Haikyuu - Camp Cretaceous AU

The videogame

A jungle. A man with a moustache and a hat runs in front of him. "We can't stop now! Follow me!" The both of them run further into the jungle. After two minutes of tiring running a rock wall blocks their way. "Stop" The man looks to his left where the rock wall is shorter and easy to climb, he scans the jungle and looks back at the man. "I think we lost them"

They start to hear growls, up on the rock wall there's a Velociraptor watching them. The dinosaur jumps and starts chasing them. Both males start running to a field, behind them, two more Raptors have joined the persecution. "Come on!" He follows the elder to the tall grass but falls and lands in a pile of bones. "Raptor bones!?" The boy exclaims to himself. He stands up again and continues running then jumps into the river. Seconds later the man is also there trying to cross. "Come on! We just have to arrive to the landing strip!" "No! We can use the river to-" The Raptors appear behind him and attack the man.

The boy stands there paralyzed, suddenly the floor starts trembling and a big shadow hangs over him. He lifts his head to see a T-Rex looking down at him "How lame" The dinosaur opens its mouth to eat him but he pauses the videogame, turning back to the main screen. The blonde 14 year old teenager stares at his computer pensive "Booh!" The boy jumps slightly on his chair then clicks his tongue in annoyance while his older brother laughs at him.

The younger takes off his VR googles and puts his normal glasses on. "What do you want now Akiteru" "Just check on my lil bro can't I?" The boy turns to his computer but his brother wheels him away. "Akiteru!" "Aw. Come on, man. The dinos get you and that old dude every time!" The elder protests while inspecting one of his brother's magazines that just like everything else in the room is about dinosaurs.

"His name is Dr. Meriwether" The blonde takes the magazine away from the other. "His name oughta be 'Dinner' " "Akiteru, I'm so close! If I manage to scape the T-Rex and beat the game I win-" "A trip to Jurassic World, I-I know, you've said it like a thousand times. But if straight-up gamers say this thing's unwinnable, how's some dino-nerd kid gonna beat it?" "Great pep talk, you've been working on that?" His brother answered kinda sad but covered it with his 'I don't care bout your opinion' tone. Akiteru sighed.

"Look, Kei. I know going to Jurassic World was dad's dream but life is more than just dinosaurs. You'll never leave your room again, bro. Dad wouldn't want this" They look at each other for brief a second before their looks turn sad and lower their gazes. "I know it sounds dumb and hopeless but I still have to try" Akiteru stares at his brother with a serious look before relaxing and smiling at him.

"Ok. You do your thing K. But be quiet, I don't want mom scolding me for you staying up late. Ok?" He turns to look at his brother who is already ignoring him and focusing on the computer. Akiteru gets out and closes the door.

After 5 minutes of just looking at the screen Kei gets up and goes to his nightstand where there's a dino-clock and a picture of him and his dad. Next to the picture there's a necklace with a dino-teeth. He grabs the necklace and holding it close to his chest, lies down on his bed staring at the ceiling until he falls asleep.

Kei wakes up suddenly "That's it!" He stands up fast, too fast. He falls off the bed. The boy gets up and mumbles a few curses while looking for the light switch. He then walks to a shelf full of books about dinosaurs and reads the titles until he founds the one he wants. Kei opens the book in a specific page, puts on his head the VR googles and sits in front of the computer.

"If my theory is correct..." He glances back to the picture then touches the raptor tooth on his necklace. With a determined look on his face, selects the option 'continue game', adjustes the VR googles and clicks 'start'. Immediately is met by a huge T-Rex attacking him. He puts his character to run and surrounds the T-Rex coming back to the other shore of the river and searching for the raptor bones on the field while the T-Rex chases him.

"Come on... It has to be here somewhere" He searches on the scattered bones and the T-Rex is getting closer "Where are you, where are you where are you... Here" He finds a raptor skull, selects the object and then clicks on the option 'activate'. The character brings the skull to his lips making it whistle like a raptor. Then, the Raptors appear and attack the T-Rex.

He lifts his head to see a helicopter coming towards him. It landed on the field away from the battle. He ran to the helicopter and came in, after that the screen turned golden with the word 'CONGRATULATIONS' in the middle of it. "Congratulations player" A voice from the computer says. Kei drops the control in shock. "I'm Mr. DNA and you're the first person in beat our game" The computer continues. "So we wanna reward you with a trip to Jurassic World's brand new state-of-the-art adventure camp. That's right. Get ready to join us at Camp Cretaceous!" Still in shock the blond takes of the VRs "Akiteru! MOM!"
