We're Gold Like The Sunrise.

"Elinor!" I heard a voice echo shaking me.
"El wake up it's Friday you gotta get up for school." I groaned and opened my eyes, I seen my older brother looking down at me.
"Finally, you sleep like a pig." He nudges my arm chuckling.
"You got an hour before you gotta leave it's 6:00 AM." He said and walked out of my room.
I rubbed my eyes while yawing, after about five minutes I finally got up and grabbed a jean jacket and a pair of jeans and a towel going to take a shower. After my shower I walked out and seen my older brother making breakfast.
"Hey Kein watcha makin?" I asked walking into the kitchen.
"Eggs and Bacon, go put your shoes on and sit down to eat I'm takin' you to school today Soc's have been comin' on our turf more often now." I walked over to my dirty converse sliding them on and sighing.
"I got a pocket knife Kein, I think I can protect myself." I walked back to the kitchen table putting my hair in a Pony tail and sittin' down."
"Not if you're walkin' your lonesome. They are rarely seen without a group El." He said in a stern voice letting me know he ain't budgin'.
I rolled my eyes knowing he was right. I finished eating my food and we walked out the door to his beatin down truck. Most the ride was silent except for the sound of his engine until he said something.
"Stay away from a Dal something, I heard he got locked up in the Icebox for around 90 day's I ain't got enough money to get you out of that you know?." He said looking at me and back to the road.
"Only reason I'm tellin' ya is because I'm pretty sure he's good buddy's with that boy you like." He finished.
"I don't like Pony." That was a lie.. I liked Pony, I didn't care if he was friends with some kid who gets thrown in the icebox, It's hard to describe the feeling I have for him considering he doesn't even know who I am, or that I exist..
"Alright Kiddo, We're here." He said, I hopped out his truck and before walkin' away he start to say something.
"I won't be able to pick ya up after school I got work. If you walk go through the wood's, Soc's don't hang out there. But don't be a fucking idiot and sit out in the woods, Once the sun goes down you'll get lost quick. Be home by five El." And with that he drove off. Shit. I mean the woods is a calming place but I could easily get followed by going through the woods. There's no spot to go into the woods without people surrounding it, I guess as long as a Soc doesn't follow me I should be fine..

After my last class ended I started walking on the sidewalk that leads towards the woods. I figured if anyone asked me what I was doing, I'd just say i'm going for a hike.. My clothes don't seem like hiking material. Low Pony tail, Dirty white converse, ripped jeans, a black zip up jacket and a dirty green shirt.  I guess I look half decent for a small hike. I got closer to the woods and before walking into it I looked around making sure no one would notice. Hurry Elinor. I started running threw the woods until I got pretty far from the road. I slowed my tracks and started walking straight from there. I felt like i kept hearing foot steps behind me but when I turned around occasionally I'd see a rabbit or a squirrel. I figured since the woods leads straight to the lot before I get home I'd stop there and watch the sunset for a little bit. I mean normally no ones there whenever I get there, If so they leave soon after.
I got to the lot and sat down against a tree with my bag under my knee's. I lit a cancer stick and just looked off into the distance as the sun was going down.. A beautiful gold, a rose, a purple.. It was beautiful. Sunset's calm me down, they make me feel happy.. They make me feel understood, I makes me feel as if Soc's and Greasers weren't different people, I didn't want to disappear when I look at sunsets or sunrises.. Their just beautiful. It's weird to explain but that's how I feel.
After the sun went down it was dark the the only lights around were the street lights. I realized what time it was and that Kein would be pissed.
I started running home. Jeez I should've joined track..
I got home within 5-10 minutes from running. I peaked threw the window and didn't see Kein.. Maybe he had to work over.. I slowly crept inside making sure not to slam the door. Now that I think about it, I didn't see he's truck either. I walked around the house trying to see if anyone was home. No one was home which was weird because dad get off work at 4 and kein gets off at 2. I didn't think anything of it and walked upstairs to my room and shut the door. I changed into my pajamas and started out on my homework. Next thing I knew I was asleep with my papers and pencils everywhere on my bed.

I'm trying to make my story's better and better please if you have tips I'd love to read them and improve on my work! I'll try to make this a long book kinda thing, I might make more then one story so I probably won't be able to post everyday. Thanks for reading!
