I find it extremely irritating when my mother, or anyone, calls my name and I yell "what?" back and...no response. I call "what?" again, even louder.
And nothing.
Do they not expect a response that they choose to leave so I have to get up and go to them?
Why don't you just wait so you'll hear me next time?
