A Chicago PD based story.
Carli Rodríguez, a young 17 year old girl, abused and bullied is at school when the intelligence team at District 51 show up for a presentation.
What happens that day? Will they notice her? Will she be able to hide her back...
I wake up on the floor of my bedroom. I realise I never made it to the bed before I passed out last night after the beating my dad gave me. I hate knowing he knocked my mum up when she was 19 because it meant she married him due to beliefs her family had since she was catholic. My dad is mexican as his father is Mexican and his mother is Spanish. I don't look Mexican because of my blue eyes and blonde hair. I got those genes from mum since she was born in america but her mother was German and her father was Romanian. Mum died when I was 10 and since then life has turned to shit and I do wish to be with my mum again when he beats me but he doesn't kill me cos he knows I want him to kill me.
Last night he beat me, when I came home from school 10 minutes late because a teacher held me back to ask me if I was ok but I obviously said I was fine and made up a new excuse like I've always done.
I look at my phone that I put on charge the night before just before the beating and notice the time.
"Shit!" I whisper yell as I realise that I'm gonna be late for school. I run to my small cupboard and I pull out the outfit I feel like wearing as it's cold outside and I can hide the new bruises. on my body.

I look at how fat I look as I look into the cracked mirror so I go to the bathroom and throw as much of what is in my system as I could considering the time and I then pick up my blade from the razor I pulled apart and I slice my arms 5 times on each. I start to tear up at the sight of myself and realise I have no time to cover up my face with makeup so I decide that I will just have to hide my face throughout the day using my hoodie and my long blonde hair to cover my face.
I walk downstairs and my dad hits me across the back of the head as I walk out the door.
"Come home on time or else you'll get worse this time" My dad says as I walked past him and in response I flip him off and yell "FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!"
I get out the door and start to walk to school knowing I'll be around 10 minutes later considering it'll take me about 5 minutes to walk there and I'm already 5 minutes late.
I get to school finally and I just walk into homegroup without stopping at my locker as I already had my books for first period in my bag as I took it home to do my homework the night before. As I walk in the door I see a group of people and then it clicks.... THE POLICE WERE COMING TO SPEAK TO US TODAY!!.... The one day I ran out of time to put of makeup is the one day the Police are here.
"Carli Rodríguez! 10 minutes late.... AGAIN. How many times do I have to tell you to come in on time. You just interrupted Detective Lindsay. Just sit down and try to listen" my teacher Miss Sunburn said.
"That's fine, I understand that kids might be late and accidentally interrupt" I hear the detective say to my teacher while looking me in the eyes as I face her when I heard her begin to talk again.
Shit... The bruises... can she see them through my hood and hair or has it all moved its position.
I continue to think about it but I'm soon interrupted by Kielan Johnson who quietly talks shit about me and my father.
"My bet is she's been busy trying to get her ass off her floor I mean... look at her... I don't even know why she even came to school when she looks like that" I hear him state and before I could punch him in the face one of the other male detectives directs me to a seat after hearing the comment Kielan made and then he walked over and said "Buddy shut up before I make you".
I sit down and smile a little although it doesn't last long before I notice the female detective look at me funny.
~~~~TIME SKIP ~~~~
After the detectives finished their presentation, Miss Sunburn asked me to stay behind and apologise for interrupting when I came in late. I decided to stay in my seat till everyone had left and the detectives had finished packing up but I noticed the female detective kept looking at me so I got up went over and asked if she needed help and she said she'd love some help.
"Hi I'm Detective Erin Lindsay... What's your name?"
"Ummm I'm Carli Rodríguez"
"That's a very pretty name you have, where are you from?"
"I was born here in America but I have a variety of other nationalities in my family line"
"Nice what are the other nationalities?"
"My dad is Mexican,his mother was spanish and his father is Mexican. My mother was American but her Mother was German and her father was Romanian."
"Wow.. thats a lot of different nationalities. Sorry if this is personal but how come you said 'was' for most of those people except 2 of them?"
"Ummm that's ok, Uhhh my m-mom passed away when I was 10 and her parents passed when I was 12 but my dads mum passed when he was 16 because she was shot. So it's just me and my dad and sometimes his father comes to visit but I don't like it when he visits."
"Oh ok. How come you don't like his father visiting?"
"Oh, ummmm.. uhhhh I dunno... I g-guess its cos he gets very weird when he does."
"Oh well here's my card, if you ever need someone to talk to or if anything happens, contact me and I'll be there. May I ask where the bruises are from?"
OH SHIT SHE SAW THEM
"Umm they're from a fight I was in yesterday" I responded hoping she believed me.
I notice Detective Lindsay open her mouth to talk so I brace myself for whatever she was about to say.
"Carli! you gotta go to the next class, can you say bye to the detectives and head off please?" I hear Miss Sunburn called out saving me from whatever Detective Lindsay was going to say.
"Yeah alright. Thank you detectives for coming in today, and I'm also sorry for coming in late and interrupting your presentation. uhhh I-I guess I'll say bye now... so yeah bye, I dunno if I'm meant to hope to see y'all again so I'm gonna say hope I see y'all another day in good circumstances." I say really awkward not too sure of what I should say.
I get embarrassed and turn to start walking out when I hear Detective Lindsay call out my name so I turn back around. As I turn around I see her coming to give me a hug but my reflexes just automatically flinch and so I run out the door before they can say anything.
A/N:
I hope you all like this story. I usually don't write these sorts of stories but I'm hoping to get everything right example spelling of names etc correct but if it's not correct I would love for someone to correct me on it nicely.
