"I knew they'd fight. I just know they would."

"I seriously don't mind the venue."

We wanted to not make a big deal out of this. The more it sink in, the more I realized that marriage is just making things official. Tama nga si Matteo, we've been living like a married couple for years.

"Ella wants a beach wedding."

"I know but-" Napahinto ako sa pagsasalita when my phone rang. There was a notification from an email. I can't help but grunt when I saw who it was. "Mama just told me she brought me something. I seriously hope it's not another gift."

"Speaking of gift, my mother wants to tell you that she bought shoes for you that she claims are not for the wedding- don't get fooled, it is."

"You forgot?"

"What?"

I told him last week! I always tell him everything that might affect this wedding planning, kahit gaano pa kaliit ang detalye. "My sister already gave me one."

"Oh."

Good heavens. It's impossible to please everyone even when we try.

Ibinagsak ko ang katawan ko sa kasama and stared at the ceiling. This week was exhausting... but the good kind.

I felt the ring on my finger. I can believe this, where we are right now. Two people planning a wedding but a month ago, it sounded like a joke. Everything with Matteo... it just feels natural. Parang it's how things are really supposed to be.

I reached out my hand and he got what I meant.

"This is really draining," reklamo ko. We've been arguing about the wedding trying to find a compromise for both families. I don't know what type of miracle happened that things went this well."

He was tracing something on my fingers. Nakikinig ba 'to sa akin?

"I wasn't planning on telling you." "But I guess this would be something you'd want to know."

"Ano?"

"Me proposing was not something sudden."

"What do you mean?"

"I asked my parents first and then your parents. I also asked for your grandmother's approval."

Napaupo ako bigla. He seriously did? This way, they won't have a choice but to agree because it's not like their disapproval would matter.

"Di nga?"

"I really don't think the way they are reacting right now would be the same if they were caught off guard, without warnings."

"I was skeptical about that at first which is why I thought they would be upset. Sa totoo lang, hanggang ngayon, nagtataka pa rin ako bakit parang walang nagagalit sa atin."

He gave me a meaningful smile. Hindi naman siguro siya napagalitan? O baka naman oo?

"Nope." He answered the questions in my head. "But it was some serious talks- really serious talks."

"Sino nakausap mo? Si Mama or si Papa?" I asked, thinking it would be easier if it was my mother pero kahit na, she'd still talk a lot- scream, even.

"Silang dalawa."

Parang wala lang sa kaniya iyon but he's obviously hiding something! Why isn't he telling me anything?
