So things became a tiny bit complicated, Hongjoong realises at least.

But it's fine! It's nothing that can't be controlled.

He has been doing great, actually. Successful at avoiding (running away from) Seonghwa and his other problems, locked up in his studio, and writing song after song. The company decided that they'll have a comeback not too far from now, so Hongjoong tries his best to write as many songs as he can in hopes that some of them would be approved to be in the album.

There's just one problem; he didn't think of the recording part of the songs.

It would still be okay if it was just him, Eden and the members. That's a setting he is used to being in. But then, for some reason, Eden thinks that it would be better if some trainees aspiring to participate in producing in their company come and watch the process. And then, for some reason, Eden also thinks calling for some of their vocalist members would be a good idea for recording demos.

And that's how Hongjoong finds himself in Eden's studio with Jongho, Seonghwa, Eden, and three overwhelmed trainees.

And Seonghwa is devastatingly handsome today (reminding Hongjoong how painfully gay he is once again as if he needed a reminder, thanks a lot). And, like he always does, Seonghwa is positively glowing. He has this stupid black leather jacket over a too low neck black sweater that leaves too much skin to see, a pretty choker made of black lace is around his neck, his long raven hair styled back in waves, and he has this soft makeup on his face - lips tinted pink and shiny, eyes rounded and made look even bigger with brown eyeshadow, a barely there highlighter on his cheekbones and it's just. Excruciating to look at him when you're not allowed to do that. And Hongjoong is not.

Hongjoong feels stupid to be affected this much by the existence of his own group member but life hasn't been very kind to him for the last couple of months, so he just goes with it. What really makes things worse is that the song they're supposed to record demo for is one of the songs Hongjoong wrote for Seonghwa in the middle of the night after watching the stars, so there's that.

He's annoyed at his stupidity and irritated by how beautiful Seonghwa is and also irritated by Eden for making him go through this even though the older man has zero idea about Hongjoong's personal hell on earth, and mostly he's irritated by the trainees who are openly ogling at Seonghwa with their mouths parted and possibly going through the shocking process of gay awakening.

It doesn't help that Hongjoong has to make eye contact with Seonghwa and literally walk him through the song, which is a first in many weeks. But it's okay, it's completely okay, Hongjoong is a professional after all.

Totally fine.

So he doesn't watch the way trainees become starstruck as soon as Jongho and Seonghwa remove their masks and introduce themselves. He doesn't watch when Seonghwa smiles at the trainees in his own charming way that renders people speechless like the poor trainees who collectively become a blushing and stuttering mess.

Two of them have been staring at Seonghwa in awe since the moment the elder took off his mask and it became worse now since Seonghwa is comfortably sitting on the couch with his long legs casually crossed and his sweater has stretched over his torso and he looks delicious while he listens to Eden. Then he wets his lips, glances at the trainees with a small smile and looks back at their producer. The poor kids look like they're having an existential crisis.

Hongjoong has to take two deep breaths to keep his professionalism.

Thankfully, Eden motions him to start, so he clears his throat loudly and the trainees wake up from their daydreaming immediately. All eyes turn to him except Seonghwa, who is looking at the floor thoughtfully. Yeah, that's annoying too, but it's a problem for another time.
