"Here ya go." TK said with a grin, setting the shakes down in front of us. The glasses they decided to use were huge; at least twice the size of the ones we had when serving customers. I couldn't even see Peter on the other side of them, that's how big they were. My eyes were as wide as dinner plates as I took in the sight. The glutton inside of me was licking her lips hungrily.
"Two chocolate milkshakes, handmade by yours truly. Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but.. I would definitely say these are my best work." TK looked over at me, and smiled brightly. "Hope ya like 'em, Y/n."
"Yeah, they'll be great." Peter cut in abruptly, sliding his shake to the side so he could get a clear view of me again. TK narrowed their eyes in his direction, looking a bit agitated at Peter's sudden umwanted input. I nervously cleared my throat, the atmosphere quickly growing thick with an uncomfortable awkwardness. They were shooting daggers at each other, but for what reason, I didn't really know. What I did know, though, was that I needed to do something to fix it, asap.
"Thank you, TK. I know they'll be perfect." I jumped in, bringing the shake closer. I took a big sip, my face immediately showing the positive reaction to the creamy drink. It was delicious, no surprise there. "They always are when you make them. I won't be long, okay?"
They nodded their head, a smirk crawling along their lips. "Okay. One little sip before I go, though." TK leaned down to my straw and took a gulp, audibly humming out pleasently at the taste. From across the table, I swore I could see Peter's eye involuntarily twitch.
"Take your time, Y/n. I'll let you know if I need you." TK playfully ruffled my hair, shooting one last snotty glance over at Peter.
And with that, TK dissapeared back into the kitchen again, an arrogant hop in their step as they went. Peter sat across from me, an expression of distaste and annoyance on his face. His arms were crossed, and he looked anything but pleased. My cheeks flushed a bit.
"So, what, are you guys dating or something?" He asked in a sarcastic manner, taking a quick sip of his shake. It was immediately obvious that he liked it, but he was trying not to show it.
I shook my head, holding my hands up in a defensive way. "No, no.. Nothing like that. TK is like an older sibling to me. They just worry, that's all."
I had known for a while now that TK had a little bit of a crush on me. Ever since the day we shared a french fry in the diner, it's been blatantly apparent that they have stronger feelings for more than just 'friends'. I, on the other hand, wasnt sure what I felt towards them. I liked them, sure.. But I didn't know in what way yet. I had a lot of other things going on in life that I needed to worry about. Maybe dating just wasnt in my cards right now.
"Oh, good. This would be a crummy date if you were already seeing somebody else."
I blinked.
"Wait... Date?"
Peter gave me another smile. "Yes, silly, date. That's what this is, right? Our first date."
I mentally facepalmed. Why didn't I realize it before? Of course this was going to come off as a date! That little message he wrote in my server book made it pretty obvious what his intentions were, didnt it? I should've made it clear in the first place that I wasn't interested in dating anybody right now. The last thing I would wanna do is lead him on. I needed to let him know before things went too far.
