Dylan's POV Chapter 8

Start from the beginning

"Holly, Lily and I."

She rolled her eyes. "Oh how charming."

"So why did you leave in the first place?"

"I left to go take care of our grandparents. Remember them?"

"I know that's what you told our parents, but I'm your twin. You can tell me."

"Hold on, take that back."

"What?"

"Paula is not my mother. Amy is more my mother than she is."

"We didn't know Amy and Paula has been my mother since Dad started seeing her. And by marriage, she's your mother too."

"I don't need a mother."

"Okay, then."

"And yes that's what I told Dad and Paula."

"So why did you really leave us?"

"I was being ignored and I didn't think that people would care and or notice that I was gone."

"Of course we noticed and cared and we still do."

She nodded.

"So will you come back with me?"

"For what?"

I sighed. "Dad's star."

"Oh right, when's that again?"

"In a few weeks, but I want you to come back with me now. I have a few things that I want us to do first."

She sighed. "Okay, let me pack."

She stood up, walked over to her massive closet and started to pack her belongings in a suitcase.

"Okay, we'll go after you get done."

When she was ready to go, she came with me in my limo as we headed back to the airport.

"Why aren't we taking Daddy's plane?"

"Well because Dad doesn't know that I'm here, remember?"

"Yes, but you could still taken it."

"No, first of all, that's illegal and we're trying to surprise him, remember?"

"But why do you want to be with the general public?"

"Why not?"

Her mouth dropped.

"What?"

"Ew!"

"What's 'ew' about it?"

"You could afford an upgrade."

"Yes, but it's been a while since I was on an commercial airplane."

"But we're royalty."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Well Daddy is very rich and famous in our country and America too. We're treated like royalty, dear brother."

"Yeah well I like flying under the radar."

"Why?"

"It makes life fun and interesting."

"No that would be boring."

"Come on, let's go!"

"I'm coming."

We left her room with her three suitcases. I could've said something, but I was trying to pick my battles. When we arrived to the foyer, I smiled at her.

"What?"

"Well then I guess you don't want these first class tickets."

"Oh don't be silly, brother. Come on."

She snatched the tickets from my hand.

"Oh vintage."

"Yeah I figured that you would change your mind."

"Change my mind about what?"

"Airplanes."

"No my reasoning still stands. Let's go."

When the plane was safely in the air and no where near landing, I decided to talk to my twin some more.

"Y'know you and Holly have something in common."

"Oh this shall be interesting. What do I and your pathetic step sister have in common?"

"She claims that Dad isn't her dad."

"Well she's right. He's not her dad."

"What do you mean?"

"There are two pieces of paper; the marriage license and the adoption papers that claim that he's her father."

"But isn't a birth certificate just a piece of paper too?"

"So?"

"So by that logic, you two are still in the same boat."

"Yeah well shut up."

"Why should I?"

"Holly is Daddy's as much as I am related to Paula."

"Yeah that's how marriage and adoption works."

"Oh just shut up you!"

"You know I'm right."

"No, I'm done talking about this."

"But why don't you want to share Dad with anyone?"

"Because he's MY DAD!"

"Yes, I know. The man is my Dad too. But I share him with our other brothers and sisters."

"Okay. Do you want another gold star?"

I sighed. "I'm just stating a fact. In fact, like half of our siblings have his DNA too."

She rolled her eyes. "Okay. Is there a point to all of this?"

"I'm just saying that Dad is not just your dad and if you remember, I'm your older brother. So I shared him with you."

"Yeah..but..."

"Yep I win! Haha!"

"Why do you like to make me angry? Isn't this trip enough for you?"

"I'm not trying to make you angry. I'm just trying to get the truth out of you."

"Which is?"

"Our Dad isn't just ours. He has fourteen children and we all need share him. So that the point that I'm trying to make. I brought up Holly in the hopes that you could see that you two are feeling the same way. You don't want to claim Mom in the same way that she doesn't want to claim Dad."

Rochelle didn't talk to me much after our discussion. But hopefully this was the beginning of getting my twin sister back into my life again.
