Lisa returned an assuring smile; her eyes trying hard to focus on Perry even if she's itching to look at Jennie.

"I'm sure your systems aren't that ancient, Perry," Lisa chuckled. "We'll be able to come up with something."

Perry laughed as he sipped his whiskey. Lisa took the opportunity to glance again as she sipped on her own champagne.

Lisa very nearly choked on her drink: the cat-like eyes were trained on her, the fake nonchalance a little too unnerving. The woman was now surrounded by three older men discussing among themselves.

Lisa looked back at Perry just in time to see him smile at Lisa again as he handed his business card.

"Here, I forgot to give this earlier. This is my last whiskey, I think," Perry grinned at himself. "Anyway, good to meet you, Lisa. Just give me some time to confirm the budget. Set up something for us by next month."

"I'm glad to bump into you here, Perry," Lisa extended her hand for a shake. "I can see Thomas from AWS trying to get your attention. I won't keep you."

Perry wished Lisa a good evening and ambled over to another crowd. Lisa's eyes automatically moved towards Jennie, who's now preoccupied with another person.

Lisa cleared her throat disappointedly and moved towards the bar. She has socialised and picked up enough cards for tonight, she told herself as she ordered another champagne. She has been there for more than an hour now and the crowd has thinned a little, albeit still going a little strong for a Tuesday night mixer.

She felt a slight tap on her shoulder. "Raiding the bar again, I see?"

The Thai looked up to find a smiling Mina Myoi, her previous competition turned casual market contact.

"Holy shit, you look good," Lisa couldn't help but gush as she gave the girl a quick friendly hug.

"You say that like I haven't always looked good," Mina rolled her eyes. "And you? Look at you rocking this dress! I almost forgot you carry a dick on some days."

Lisa laughed. She couldn't deny she planned to look good tonight: she felt confident in a black low cut dress with silver floral lines that she paired with a more function-approved pair of stilettos. She sprayed her hair with a temporary black dye to match her outfit, which complemented her semi-dark evening makeup.

"I like giving people something to look at every once in a while," Lisa winked at a chuckling Mina. "How have you been?"

"I'm alright. Busy as usual," Lisa studied the girl as she pressed herself towards the bar to eye the various drinks available. She settled for a glass of champagne. "Lots of digital projects lately so it must have been very good for you, too."

"We have two that are just about to finish implementation, but mostly mid-market," Tethering her attention to the woman beside her was tough as Lisa's eyes couldn't help but stray towards the far end. "I'm trying to target enterprise, honestly. The sales cycle is a bitch though."
