'Liz! Liz! Wake up!' A familiar voice echoes through the hallway, I open my eyes slowly as the sun brightens my room up. 'Breakfast is ready!' My mother calls again as I stretch my arms out before hopping out of bed and dress it. I throw on a pair of ripped denim shorts, a light brown tank top and tie my hair in a fishtail braid. I quickly brush my teeth and take my phone off charge looking at the group message.

"Where are you, Liz?' Kie messages me.
"We're waiting at the construction site for you.' Pope messages.
"JJ misses you, dearly ;)" John b messages me.
"Ignore him! But yeah, where is my partner in crime?" JJ messages.
I let out a giggle as I place my phone in my back pocket and close my bedroom door, heading down the hall to the kitchen.

'Morning.' I say softly as I look at my mother making pancakes and my father reading the daily newspaper. 'Morning, flower.' My dad mutters as his eyes never leave the paper. 'Morning, sweetheart.' My mother exclaims. 'Do you have any plans for your first day of summer?' My mother asks as she places the plate of pancakes with maple syrup in front of me. 'Just going to meet up with the Pogues.' I reply. 'How are the boys? I've seen Kie yesterday when she was over, but JJ, Pope and John b haven't come around in a while.' My mother asks as I look up at her. 'John b has been busy getting DCS off his back..' I mumble and my mother lets out a sigh of frustration as a frown appears upon her face. 'That poor boy! He must be going through so much after John went missing out in sea.' My mother says. 'It's been hard on all of us since Big John went missing.' My father sighs as his face drops from the thought of his dearest best friends disappearance. 'I'm sorry, love. I shouldn't have brought him up.' My mother apologises as she places a kiss on my dad's forehead. 'It's fine. But I understand why John b hasn't come around. Big John and him always used to come here for Sunday dinners and you and him had your birthdays together here.' My father states and I let out a sigh as the memories flood through my head.

'Yeah..' I whisper. 'Anyways, what about Pope and JJ?' My mother asks coming back over to my side. 'Pope's been too busy studying for his scholarship. He's literally non stop talking about it which gets pretty annoying, but I'm so proud of him. I always knew he could do it.' I exclaim as a smile appears on my face. 'I know, his mother and I were talking over the phone yesterday about it. You know you and him together..' my mother says with a smirk and I immediately cut her off. 'No, mom! Pope and I are just friends.' I state. 'Stay away from all boys.' My father points at me and I chuckle. 'And JJ's dealing with his own home problems.' I mutter as my face drops. 'I swear, I can't believe the cops haven't done anything to help him. Luke should be rotting in jail for the rest of his life after what he put that boy through.' My mother argues and both my father and I nod in unison. 'Never forget to tell him that he's always welcomed here.' My father states pointing at me and I nod in agreement. 'I always tell him.' I say softly and he smiles at me. 'Oh god! You and JJ together!' My mother exclaims and my father and I both let out a sigh as my face begins to burn bright red and my father bursts out laughing. I've always kinda had a little crush on JJ, I mean who wouldn't but he'd never like someone like me. Besides there's never a chance we'll be together because no Pogue on Pogue macking, is a rule the five of us have to listen to. No romantic feelings between pogues. 'Love, if she wants a boyfriend, she'll get one. Don't try set her up with her best friends.' My father states. 'But you and JJ have been friends forever. There has to be some kind of romantic feelings now, since you're all grown up.' My mother says looking at me and I glare at her.

'You're blushing!' My mother cheers as my eyes widen. 'I..I'm not.' I stutter and my mother squeals as I stand up. 'I'm going now. See you.' I say quickly heading out the front door. 'You're just after scaring your own daughter away.' I could hear my father burst out into a fit of laughter as I grab my skateboard and skate down the footpath onto the street towards the construction site.
