Lamp Light

Prologue

      She panted her heart pounding against her chest. Was she having a panic attack? Perhaps a stroke? She hid against a door frame listening carefully she held her breath when he bolted past. She couldn't let him catch her , not again. She waited and bolted the opposite direction. She ran until she couldn't go any further. She found herself at Finn's doorstep. She swallowed hard , this wasn't much better than what she was running from but she knew she'd be safe. Glancing back one more time and shuddering , she knocked on the door.

     She couldn't hide the surprise when Finn answered. His glasses were off the lamp outside casting a dreamy haze on his face. She hadn't see his eyes before and her lips parted as she drank in the sight. His right eye was the color of honey in the summer sun. His left eye was a breath taking silver color the pupil similar to that of a viper. She shook herself from her thoughts remembering what brought her here.

" Finn I ," she stopped and shivered , " I need to come in please. I need help"

"Of course Aelita. Is everything alright,prinsessan mín?" Concern laced his voice , he didn't seem to notice he wasn't wearing his glasses.

"There... There was this man? No... This... Thing! Chasing me " She paced in his entry way , "I couldn't tell what it was and"

   He cut her off , backing her against the wall. He dipped his head to brush his nose against her neck. Anger vibrated off his body , shaking her to her core. She had never seen him angry. He gently moved one hand to her face the other resting on her hip. She looked up at him her vibrant blue eyes almost glowing in the flickering light. He was disgusted , to think someone would come after her. Something so sweet at heart. He would find whoever it was and when he was done , there would be nothing left.
