A Happy Belated Birthday to my Best Boy Satan! (That sounds so weird out of context) I had decided to wait until we were allowed to post about our works on our own before uploading this here

This was written for the Satan Birthday Collab 2021! This is somewhat based on the Honeyworks song "The Day I Call Out Your Name"

The Devildom never got very cold. The realm usually had a balmy feel, never too hot nor too cold. Occasionally it would snow, but every blanket was separated by a couple of centuries, and it never piled up too high, just enough for the children to play in without needing to worry about what lurked below.

When a cold shudder ran down his spine on his walk home from RAD, Satan knew they were in for some snow this year. His boney tail was more susceptible to the cold, and even when it wasn't out he knew northern winds when they hit him.

"Hey, are you okay?" His walking companion asked, having noticed the shiver that slipped past his teeth. Their eyes were filled with worry, an eyebrow cocked up in suspicion.

"I'm fine, just a sudden chill is all." Satan smiled, trying hard to hide his embarrassment at being caught off guard by something as simple as the wind.

The human shrugged, not fully buying his story. "If you say so." They readjusted the bag on their shoulder and kept walking. Satan could imagine the gears turning in their head, a clockwork train of thoughts trying to find the true meaning behind his words and actions. Perhaps they thought that they could read him better than any book, and perhaps they were right. If the little human was half as smart as they thought they were, they would think to get some warmer clothes soon.

The clothing stores that lined downtown never interested him much on a normal basis. When he deemed it necessary to get new clothes, he would spend hours browsing through the smaller shops, finding their selection more comfortable than the name brand items Asmodeus and Mammon flaunted. Even on occasion when he found something that caught his eye in one of those stores, he would only spare it a fleeting glance before moving on. But such was not the case this time, when the two of them passed by a store setting up mannequins in the display windows. One of the mannequins wore a scarf crocheted with chunky yarn in a color he had grown to recognize as the human's favorite color. The scarf had gone unnoticed by them; instead they were looking at a sign in front of a cafe across the street.

Without much of a second thought, Satan began walking to the store that caught his eye, only giving his companion a barely audible heads up that he would be right back, and to meet him in the cafe they were interested in, temporarily forgetting about the dangers of leaving them alone.

Upon entering the store, the smell of perfume hit his nose, an overbearing scent similar to Asmodeus' favorite rose perfume. Not sure of where to go to find the scarf in the window, Satan hastefully began looking around, not finding the scarves amongst the designer clothes and expensive jewelry.

"Hello, is there anything I can help you with today?" One of the store's employees asked when they saw him frantically looking around. She smiled sweetly. Perhaps, asking an employee for help would be better than making a fool of himself trying to find it on his own.

"One of the scarves in the display window, the one made from thick yarn, where can I find it?"

"Our scarves are held on the very back wall to your left. It serves as the bridge between the men and women's winter clothing with cut outs for wings."

"Thank you!" With a mad dash, Satan made his way to the back end of the store, trying to avoid running into any of the other shoppers or displays.
