after Allie finished the bottle of water, her and Alex sat on the floor in a fit of laughter about what just happened

"I think I put the suger in instead of the salt" said Allie a while after they calmed down

"Ya' think" said Alex chuckling causing her mother to do the same

" well now I know what I will be getting you for Christmas... a label maker" said alex as she was getting up, followed by her own mischievous laugh.

"Hey you better get something better!"

Alex's POV

I walked down stairs while holding in a yawn, my backpack slung loosely on my shoulder, before a sweet smell of rich chocolate and fresh berries took over all my senses

Besides savory dishes mom was a great baker and loves to make desserts for breakfast reason for it is that dad used to beg her when he was still around but she would only agree some times because she wanted to keep it for special occasions like when he was tired from work or anxious about family issues, it was her way of showing her love and care to him when he was to tired for anything

"Morning. Ohh change that to good morning" i said excitedly as i spotted my favorite chocolate chips waffles with strawberries on top

Dad's favorite

"So got anything at school, tests?"

"Hopefully not, Mr browns has been giving a lot of pop quizzes in the past couple of weeks" I said as I laid my bag next to my chair

"Poor little thing "said my mom teasingly before giving me a kiss on my forehead causing me to sarcastically glare at her

"Oh! I have a surprise for you, it was your dad's and I think you'll enjoy it " said mom with a enthusiastic tone as she ran behind the counter, making me sit up straight and try to sneak a look over the counter with an anxious smile on my face

"I found this in one of the boxes that was lost when we moved and I thought you should have it" she said as she pulled out a roughed up box's with random writings around, and laid it down in front of me

I started to gently open the box afraid that I might break the fragile cardboard, before pulling out an 80s vintage skateboard that had band stickers like Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, bon jovi etc

I started in shock at the skate board, this was a family treasure, we all have a photo of us on it with dad. Thousand memories stormed back into my brain making me recall my childhood

"How- I though-I thought it was lost" I said as tears started to blur my vision

"I know. I found it a couple of days before moving and wanted to surprise you with it once we have settled in stoneybrook, but it was among the few boxes that were lost in the move" she said as she sniffed and wiped her own tears

"Two days ago, some boxes were found and delivered and this was among them"

I tear fell down as I remember life a couple of years ago, I still hold a photo of us three in my pocket everywhere I go. It's like holding a piece of my heart with every step I take.

I got up and gave my mom a hug, we both miss him and talk about him every chance we get which is better for us and it helps us heal but the skateboard felt like it brought a piece that was missing of our hearts back.

"I'm so going to be late"

me and mom laughed at my comment

"Okay but now we really have to go, be safe" she said with a kiss on my forehead and wiping a tear that was trailing on my cheek

We said our goodbyes and she went to her car and I started riding my new... well new to me skateboard.

After a long day for me and my mom we both decided to order pizza and have a marvel movie marathon

As we were in the middle of the first iron man our house landline started ringing which caused us to jump, as it never does.

"No need to pause I'll be back" said mom as she got up to answer making me give a simple nod

Two minutes later she came in a hurry

" hey so I have something I need to ask" she said quickly

"What is it"

"One of my coworkers needs a sitter for her son, David Michel, you think you can do it"

"When is it"

"Tomorrow"

"Sure I can babysit him"

I used to baby sit a lot before she moved, i liked kids and wanted to understand them so to me this was a a very exciting job

"Thanks baby" said mom, smiling before her figure disappeared making me turn back to the tv, and only thinking about my plans for tomorrow
