Alex walked into her house, exhausted for all the school work she had done, only for her to hear the soft humming of her mother coming from the kitchen. Her tiredness was quickly covered by her confusion. Her mom isn't usually home at this time so this caused the tired girl to have all kind thoughts in her head.
Did she get fired?!
Did something happen at work?!
She laid her back pack near the staircase, lightly tripping on her way to the kitchen where her mothers humming got clearer and clearer
"Hey I'm home" she said as her mother snapped her neck towards her out of fright, making the humming come to an abrupt stop, before a look of relief took over her face.
"Hey Al .How was school?" she asked with a calm but happy tone, making Alex calm down a little.
"Exhausting as always, okay next question... what are you doing home so early?" She said in a weird tone indicating that the suspiciousness was still there
"Oh my boss let me come home early. Me and my coworkers finished our work for the day so I decided to make dinner for once" said Allie as she saw the look on her daughter's face to grow worried.
"Mom no! You know I'm in charge of lunch and dinner. Come on mom you know this"
Alex and her mother have come to an agreement that Allie never ever cooks due to some... incident that happened in the past.
" oh come on i never cook you actual food so I wanted to make a change" she said to her frowning daughter.
"You gave us food poisoning for a week"
"That was one time!"
"Yes cause the other time you burned the kitchen down"
"And that also was one time!"
" and thank god for that. Does it have to be the whole house?" She said in a sarcastic tone with a chuckle as her mother laughed.
"come on just try this please" she said holding the spoon close to her face
Alex Whined before agreeing to, as her mother put the spoon in her mouth she felt a sweet taste...too sweet...wait ...why is it tangy!
Alex ran to the sink and spat out what was supposed to be soup and started rinsing her mouth by putting her head under the sink and filling her mouth up with tap water as it sprayed everywhere else.
"What, what is it to much salt" said Allie trying to figure out what was the problem, sniffing the mixture to try and detect the problem with it
"No no I think it was the lack of salt" said Alex in a disgusted tone
"Oh come on it can't be that bad-" said Allie before putting a spoonful in her mouth
In approximately two seconds Allie was running around the kitchen looking for water try to get rid of the sugary-sour taste out of her throat
Alex laughed before handing her mother a bottle of water from the fridge. Alex watched as her mom fumbled with the bottle for a few second before she got the lid of
