"Nonsense, this is a party!" She said flailing her hands about.

She led him into a kitchen and plopped into a chair as she spoke to the females huddled by the beer pong table.

"Ladies this is Gulf. Gulf, ladies."

They surrounded him as they spoke over each other.
"Faith was right, you're so cute!"
"Are you sure you're gay?"
"I have a really hot cousin I can hook you up with!"
"I can turn you straight."

"Umm, can I have a drink?" he interjected, grimacing at the noise and wishing he were anywhere but here.

"Alright bitches, move on and stop harassing him. He doesn't want any of you dried up sluts." She commented, her words slurring as she got to her feet.

His eyes widened and he looked between all the girls.

"Are you sure? I think I could change your mind", one of them piped up as she ran her finger down his chest.

He stepped back and smiled apologetically, "sorry I already have a boyfriend."

"Well damn, that's ass." She said and flung her hair before strutting away.

"Don't worry about her, Nan doesn't take rejection well." Faith said and grabbed his hand, pulling him towards the wet bar where the drinks were set up.

"What's your poison?"

"Uh... I don't know. To be honest, I've only ever had wine coolers before."

"Are you serious right now?" She stared at him in amazement, "ok, well I guess let's start off with a simple mixer and we'll see how it goes."

Gulf looked around the room as it spun in circles. He blinked slowly and looked for Faith. They had bonded over their love of a mixed drink called an orange dreamsicle before moving on to the shots and he needed her to tell him where the bathroom was. He searched for her, but his hazy state of mind prevented him from keeping his objective clear. The need to use the bathroom grew too urgent and he stumbled for the door. His journey brought him to the side of the house, and he relieved himself, holding onto the wall for support as he thought about the professor. His thoughts tumbled as he finished his business and he whipped out his cellphone, dialing his Mew.

"Hello? Gulf?" Mew's sleepy tone filled the line.

"Professor!" He whispered loudly into the phone as he giggled.

"What's going on, its two in the morning? Are you drunk?" His worried voice crackled in his ear.

"Shhhh... of course not. I'm so good right now."

"Gulf..."

"What Mew? I just wanted to hear your voice" his emotions swung down as his voice wobbled.

"Where are you? How are you getting home?"

"I'm at some Delpha Alta Chi place, Mew. I was gonna go home soon, but I walked." He said as his knees threatened to buckle, and his head spun around again.

"Do you know anyone there?"

"Nope!" He popped his lips on the 'p' and laughed hysterically.

"Gulf? Gulf!" Mew was practically shouting in his ear.

"What?"

"Just go sit down somewhere, I'll be there in fifteen minutes."

"Are you coming for me Professor?" He asked his heart filling with eagerness.

"Yes, just sit tight and stay outside so you see me."

The line clicked and Gulf stared at the phone before staggering over to the steps of the front porch. And sat down hard, his ass slamming into the stone beneath him.
"Ouch", he muttered to himself and leaned back on his hands as he stared at the stars through bleary eyes. His professor was kind of like the stars he thought to himself. Bright, beautiful, and you could see the sparkle from a million miles away. Oh boy, that was cheesy he giggled out loud again and waited in impatience.
