"Yeah, yeah! See you later" she said cheerfully, her fake smile settling back onto her face.
He sighed and continued his route back to his dorm. What did he just agree to?

Pulling out his phone, he opened his text messages, typing quickly:

Gulf looked himself over in the mirror, twisting and turning as he decided on his outfit. The shirt he chose was black on one side and white with black stripes on the other paired with some dark jeans. It was good enough for him. He was hoping to make an appearance and then leave quickly, but he had a sneaking suspicion that it wouldn't go his way. When did one show up to a party? Was there such a thing as party etiquette? He wasn't sure, so he decided to head over at 10 PM and hope it was late enough.

The time rolled around swiftly as his palms sweated profusely and he began to get nervous. He had spent most of his high school career studying and reading books, not going to parties. The clock struck and it was time to go. Rushing across campus, he finally stood outside the Alpha Delta Chi Sorority house. Heavy music thumped against the walls so loudly that he could hear it from the street. The small clapboard house was colored in an off-white and decorated simply, with a sign stating their sorority name. He wasn't quite sure what a sorority actually was, but he vaguely remembered something about community outreach and a lot of parties. He stepped onto the cobblestone path leading to the front porch and took a deep breath before knocking on the door. The door opened and loud music nearly knocked him off his feet as the heavy bass escaped from the small room.

A man greeted him, waving him in "Yo, hurry up and get in here we don't want any complaints." He said before turning away and leaving him standing in the front hall.

"Gulf! Gulf!" A familiar, piercing voice shouted over the music as the girl from his class bounded up to him, stumbling slightly. He reached out a hand to steady her and was pulled into surprisingly strong hug.

"Oh my god, I'm so glad you could make it! Follow me and I'll get you something to drink and you can meet the girls."

"I uh, actually wasn't planning on drinking." He responded, following her through the house.
