"Deal."
The shrill tone of a phone ringing woke Gulf up out of a dead sleep.
"Turn it off baby!" Mew groaned from beside him, slinging his arm over his eyes. Gulf sat up in the bed and reached for phone blindly, sliding to answer.
"Hello?" He said blearily.
"Mr. Kanawut, this is Mr. Stotsky. Sorry to call so early in the morning, but we've scheduled a meeting for 11 AM, for a discussion about the situation."
"Ah, ok Mr. Stotsky. Where will the meeting be held?"
"In the conference room of the administration building, please be prompt."
"Thank you, sir" he replied and hung up. He peeked over at Mew to find him sitting up as well, his expression serious.
"Stop worrying it's going to be alright." He said, kissing Mew on the forehead before crawling out of bed.
"I'll go make breakfast."
They ate breakfast together and then headed off to the shower. Mew's face was fixed permanently in a frown as he washed Gulf robotically, his mind a million miles away.
"Mew, What's on your mind?"
"This meeting could go south, fast."
Gulf sighed and wrapped his arms around Mew's waist as they stood under the spray of the shower, the warm water raining gently down.
"It could, but we're prepared for anything. Do you want this? Do you want to be with me?" He asked nervously, hoping the answer was still the same.
"Of course, I do." Mew reassured as his arms tightened around Gulf, their naked chests flushed together.
"Then nothing else matters." Gulf said simply.
They stood under the spray until the water went cold, bundling up afterwards in towels. They got dressed together, their touches lingering as the time moved closer. Before they left the house, Gulf's phone rang once again and his expression relayed confusion as he answered and put the call on speaker phone.
"Hey Faith, what's up?"
"Oh, hey I was just calling to see how you were holding up?" She said hesitantly.
"Holding up?"
"Well yeah, Nan told me that you were sleeping with a professor and got caught and you were gonna get axed."
"Nan?"
"Yeah, you remember her from the party? She kept trying to flirt with you until you told her you had a boyfriend, but I can't believe that the boyfriend was a professor!"
Rage encapsulated Gulf as pieces of the puzzle came together. How did she figure it out though? He hadn't talked about Mew one time during the night, except for when he was outside... he had called the professor. Did he say his name out loud? Why couldn't he remember! But then, Mew had picked him up from the sorority. Had she been watching him?
"I think she has the wrong information, I'm not sleeping with a professor," he lied.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I guess I was so excited about the gossip, that I didn't stop to consider if it was true or not."
"It's ok, is that rumor going around now?" He asked in trepidation.
"I don't think so, this was the first I'd heard of it."
"Oh, ok." He sighed in relief.
"But I was so sure that it was Professor Suppasit, I mean the tension in the room when you two debated was the stuff of legends." She said, swooning dramatically.
