Exposing the Lecture (Part 3)

Start from the beginning

"Mr. Kanawut please have a seat in the waiting room until the dean is ready." The secretary spoke up and waved her hand in the direction of the waiting room.

"Professor Suppasit, I need you to fill out some of these forms before you leave."

Mew conferred with the secretary, his eyes never straying to Gulf. He waited, hands clasped between his knees as sweat formed on his brow and his eyes remained glued to the professor's rigid form until he walked away.

"Mr. Kanawut the dean will see you now."

He rose from the chair and stepped towards the office his knees almost buckling under the pressure. He drifted through the door and sat down in the chair closest to him.

"Mr. Kanawut" the dean addressed him.

His eyes focused on the older gentleman, dressed in a sharp suit and looking regal, his hands folded in front of him.

"Mr. Stotsky " Gulf bowed his head, respectively.

"Do you know why you're here?"

Gulf said nothing and raised his eyebrow, deciding he was not going to let this man intimidate him.

"I asked you a question."

"But it was a stupid question, so I chose not to answer."

"Mr. Kanawut I'm going to ask you to address me with respect."

"Of course, sir" he said putting on his best apologetic face, but inside he was very uncertain of a future that had seemed so secure only moments ago.
Was Mew angry?

"You're here because of a claim from a fellow classmate that you and your professor have a sexual relationship."

"That is correct." He said boldly even as his stomach churned with queasiness.

"Gulf, I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that and allow you to answer again."

"My answer remains the same, we are in a sexual relationship."

"What you're saying is grounds for the professor to be fired, is that what you want? To ruin a brilliant man's future."

"What are his grounds for termination?"

"Engaging in a relationship with students is strictly forbidden." The dean replied his tone filled with exasperation.

"But he was no longer my professor."

"Pardon me?"

"We began our relationship after I had already passed my final and moved on from his class."

"If you're lying..."

"Why would I lie? You said yourself that the professor is an intelligent man, do you think he allowed anything to develop until after I was removed from his roster? What, you think I could seduce him and he would cave?"

"Mr. Kanawut, in my honest opinion, I believed you were being coerced, but as you've been very outspoken, I can see that that's not the case."

"I'm not being coerced, and I will not give up my relationship."

"Gulf, you cannot continue this."

"I can and I will. It's perfectly legal and consensual."

"It may be legal, but this university has a strict policy on teacher-student relationships. You may continue to explore your feelings after you've graduated."

"Then expel me and I'll take my scholarships and academic awards to a different university."

"Mr. Kanawut, you do realize that you are ruining this man's career."
