The results finally came in, and more bodies cropped up in the process. But those were obvious. The entire profile was obvious at that point. Everyone and their mother knew that Vivian was afraid of heights. So, that's why she was found at the bottom of that cliff. Many thought it was some sort of strange accident, that she had somehow got lost and ended up stranded out in the boonies. Her body wasn't that far from her abandoned car after all. But the information that she was afraid of heights was accompanied with a message written on her body in permanent marker: "Fearful sight, right?" ~ Fo B. Ah
The note was followed by a picture of what looked to be a man swimming on the victim's abdomen. Just a little, simple stick figure and a squiggly line going through it. Yet another body was found a week later in a public pool. While the pool looked to be filled with blood, a majority of it was actually food coloring. Some of the liquid was blood, still seeping from the slit on the body's forearm. This body used to be Robert. His family stated he was so afraid of blood he had to be sedated if he were to take blood tests. The cement block that held him down had what looked like an insect drawn on it with a message: "He just couldn't cut it."~ Fo B. Ah
The next body found was covered in ants. It was estimated that this was actually an old victim that the killer wanted them to find, but the note left behind seemed fresh. It was on a piece of paper. Her fellow detectives thought it was because there was nothing that he could write on clearly. The note read simply: "She was alive." ~ Fo B. Ah
There was a drawing on the paper, too. The next drawing led to the next body and then the body after that. But the autopsy results for the third victim had only just come in. It was a skeleton, no obvious signs of stabbing or of gunshots. Luckily there was DNA to determine the victim's identity. The medical technician sounded stressed as she spoke.
"The third victim was Loretta, she was a 33 year old prostitute,"
Of course the detective thought of this already. The victim would have to have their DNA in the system. This guy wanted, needed, them to know who their victim was.
"Let me guess, it's in her record that she had a phobia of insects?" The detective asked.
The technician snorted a laugh, "How'd you know?" Another sigh, "Well that's nothing compared to this, she was only missing for two days when her body was found."
The detective frowned, how could a body decay that fast? "Did he strangle her and burn the body?"
"Her neck was still intact, and the bones weren't damaged so that's unlikely?"
"Suffocated and covered in acid?"
"Your guesswork is good but not quite. Remember those ants around the corpse?" The technician double checked her notes as she spoke, "Well, they were African Driver Ants. They're known for devouring human flesh."
"So, suffocation and then have the ants clean...up..."
"You guessing again?"
The detective's eyes widened as the realization hit her. She looked into the evidence box, she looked at the note.
She was alive......
