The Funeral

Aspen's pov

I was sitting on the top part of the couch watching the boys play some video game when dad came in with the board game shoots and ladders
"God that game was fun." I thought to myself

"Hey Dad we were at the Spielberg's house yesterday, they have a 150 inch TV can we get one of those." Greg said whilst chopping someone's head off

"You know what when you direct E.T I'll get you one of those."

I stop listening and started texting my best friend until I heard a crash outside.

I ran out along side dad, Greg, Keithie and Rita when Becky jumped out of the car.

"OMG WHAT HAPPENED WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I asked really concerned

"Daddy, I was trying to get heaven on the navy." Becky said to dad

"The navy what's the navy?" He asked confused

"The navy in the car to ask it a question." Becky answered

"You mean the navigation system idoit." Keithie said

"Shhhhhhh." Dad and I said to keithie

"A man called and said your friend coach buzzer went to heaven, I tried to find heaven on the navy so you could visit him dad." Becky said oblivious to the situation

"Who's your friend dad?" Becky asked

"Ah coach buzzer was a big part of Aspen and I lives." Dad said whilst I had tears welling in my eyes.

"He taught me how to play basketball and babysat me all the time."

Skip time to the funeral

As soon as we got there dad took off his glasses and mum asked "why are you taking off your glasses." "I don't want any reason for these guys to call me..." Dad was cut off by someone "Hollywood."

We all got out off the car and dad started talking to him.

"Hey Kurt Mackenzie and the whole Mackenzie clan." Dad greeted them

"Hey Hollywood, is that your daughter?" Kurt asked

"Yeah that's Aspen, Aspen come here." Dad said

"Uh yeah dad, what's up?" I said

"Hi I'm Kurt your dads childhood friend nice to meet you."
Kurt said

"Hi I'm Aspen nice to meet you to." I replied

The Lamonsalf's pull up and one particular guy caught my eye I didn't realise I was staring until dad said "Lammonsalf rolling up in a catty!" "Yeah that's how we do it baby!" The man replied
Then they got out of the car and I introduced myself to the very cute boy.

"Hi I'm Aspen Feder nice to meet you."

"Hi I'm Cameron Lamonsalf nice to meet you to."

Then we all were sitting in the church and the priest said "Robert 'The Buzzer' Fernando was a caretaker by choice and when Rob knew his time was short and he wanted a specific man to say a few words so I would like to invite up Lenny Feder."

Dad got up and and said "I-I sorry I'm not prepared at all,  I am very honered that coach wanted me to do this he always wanted me to come and see him but I've been caught up in what I've been doing and I regret it." "But I do believe that the saint marks team of 1978 was his only championship team and that's surprising considering the talent we had to offer believe me or not but Robbie and Marcus were actually shorter back then." Dad said when Mr. Lammonsalf said "Yeah but they had a skill you never mastered, they knew how to pass the ball!" "Seems like someone has to learn how to pass the Kentucky fried chicken!" Dad retaliated
"I'm kidding I'm kidding." "Coach, you affected everyone in this room and now let's bow our heads in silence." Dad said as he finished his speech.

Now Robbie was singing 'Ava Maria' when I leaned over and said to the cute boy in front of me "Hey pretty boy, 5 bucks he takes it down on one knee?"
"Oh your on." He responded

Soon enough Rob got one one knee and Cameron gave the 5 bucks whilst we both bursted out laughing when I look over at my dad I see him doing the same thing.

After the ceremony we were outside and I decided to start talking to Cameron and we talked and laughed and became close.
Then it was time to go.
