Anderson's P.O.V

I walked outside of the club with Lucy, leaving Hughie in there by himself. I doubt he'd want to come outside for some fresh air anyways. He looked perfectly happy standing at the bar sweet talking some chick.
Lucy linked arms with me as we walked over to one of the benches that were lined up on the footpath.

I slouched on the seat, crossing my arms over my chest, staring at the blackness of the night. Lucy sat beside me with a sigh.

"So.." She turned to face me with a sly smile on her lips.

"What?" I chuckled.

"Tell me more about this little girlfriend of yours." She grinned.

"There's nothing to tell. She's not my girlfriend." I mumbled, glaring at the ground as if it had done something to me.

She rested a hand on my shoulder lightly.

"Do you love her?" She asked.

I nodded, "Yep."

"Then why are you here Andy?" She frowned at me.

"To get away from everything Lucy." I replied.

She scowled, "I never thought of you as a coward before Anderson."

I looked at her and raised a eyebrow.

"What?"

"Running away from your problems, that's the cowards way out." She stated.

"You don't get it." I muttered.

"I do Andy-"

"You don't." I snapped before letting out a sigh and covering my face with my hands, "You don't know what it feels like for the girl that you're in love with to tell you that she can't be with you because what you both have is wrong in some sort of way. I know she loves me and that's what pisses me off. We're in love but we can't be together because it's wrong. You have no idea how it feels."

Lucy stared at me before sighing, "Believe me, I do.."

"Yeah? When has that ever happened to you?" I mumbled angrily, bringing my eyes back to the blackness.

"Not long after you left." She mumbled quietly, "You remember Gabrielle, right?"

I nodded slightly, "Barely. You two broke up months ago."

"I know. I told it wasn't working out, remember that?"

"Yeah."

"It wasn't because things weren't working out, because they were. Things were great between us." She explained quietly, "It was because of her parents... They hated they fact that their daughter was gay. They fucking hated it. They hated me too just because of it. They didn't approve of our relationship, never did and they never would. They were even willing to disown Gabby if she didn't end it. Crazy huh? They'd disown their own daughter because of her sexuality... It tore Gabby apart and I hated seeing her like this so I did what was best for her, I broke it off. I put my feelings aside to do what was best for her because even though she may have loved me, she loved her parents just as much. I couldn't see her go through that Andy. But you know what I realised? It was the biggest mistake of my life. She's well gone now though. I realised that I could've made her just as happy, with or without her parents. I gave up my chance at happiness and love and I reget it every single day."

I stared at her in shock, watching as tears began to form in her eyes, ones that she tried so hard to blink away, but it didn't work. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her to me. She clutched my jacket in her fists and let out a silent sob.

"Why didn't you tell me or Hughie?" I asked her quietly.

She let out a sad chuckle, "Tell you guys? Please. You'd only feel sorry for me."

"How else am I supposed to feel? That shit ain't right Lucy." I frowned, anger growing inside of me at the thought that some people might actually still be like that. Total homophobics.

She shrugged, pulling away from me and wiping her tears away. Putting a smile on her lips.

"I know. But what can we do? People will be people." She told me with a smile, but her eyes held sadness and heartache.

She sniffed, smiling at me.

"Which is why mister I won't stand here and watch you throw something like that away." She smiled, poking her finger into my chest with each word, "Understand?"

I nodded, "I'll need your help though. I think."

She gave me a doubtful look, her smile slowly fading, "Yeah?"

I grinned, "Well, you know how you love me so much because I'm your best friend and you know that I'd do anything for you?"

"Quit the sweet talk Andy. What do you want me to do?"

"Pretend that we're together?" I answered.

"Jealousy? You want to make her jealous? With me? Your best friend?" She frowned, "You know that hardly ever works right? I seen this shit it movies Andy and it's pretty fucked up. It'll fuck you and you girl up."

I chuckled, "She cheated on her boyfriend with his brother. I fucked my brother's girlfriend. Me and Casey.. Well, we're already fucked up. I doubt adding you into the entire thing would make a difference."

"And what if it doesn't work?" She questioned.

"Well, my options are limited as it is Lucy. I'll make sure it works." I replied, "So.. What do you say?"

She let out a sigh before smiling at me, "Just for you."

"Thank you!" I chirped, kissing her cheek.

She rolled her eyes, giggling to herself, "Whatever, honey."

I laughed at her, but I couldn't help but to pray to however was watching over me that this would somehow work out in my favour.

Fingers crossed.
