Rachel crept up the stairs, trying not to awaken her drunken father. She reached the landing and did a silent cheer, until her weird sixth sense felt something behind her. She froze on the spot, knowing exactly who it was.
"Turn around." His deep voice rumbled the walls. She squeezed her eyes shut and turned. He slapped her. Her eyes opened, looking at the man looming over her. He had a cigarette lazily hanging in between his lips. She started trembling. He grabbed her arm and the her into the wall, creating a dent where she landed. After she got to her feet, he slapped her again. Then he pulled her arm out. She braced herself for the burn. His cigarette burned a perfect black circle on her wrist. He threw her down the stairs and stumbled down the stairs, feel on the couch, and immediately passed out. She got shakingly to her feet. Multiple gasps brought her attention to the front door.

Jinx, Kori, Karen, Wally, Vic, and Richard were dragging Gar down the street, despite his protest.
"Where are we going?" Kori was the only one who acknowledged his whine.
"To see someone important. She has been acting strangely and we believe you can help resolve the problem."
"Is she cute?" All of them sighed exhaustively.
They arrived at the small house. There was a car in the driveway, but no other signs of life. That is, if they hadn't seen the door shut quietly behind the girl trying to get in. Gar was now walking on his own, not trying to run away since Vic was right behind him. They opened the door quietly, trying not to disturb the inhabitants. When they got in, they realized they had awakened a member of the household who was asleep on the couch. They saw a large man go up the stairs, following the girl. Gar was the only one who didn't recognize her. Peeping around the stairs, they saw the girl freeze up as soon as he was behind her, heard his deep voice growl, saw her squeezed eyes, heard her yelp as she was thrown. And the thing that scared them most was the fear in her eyes when she looked up. They couldn't see what happened next, but they heard her sharp hiss of pain. The next part was a blur, but it ended with her at the foot of the stairs and him asleep on the couch. She started getting to get feet when they saw the damage. Her hoodie had gotten torn along with her t shirt. They saw the scars, burns, and bruises her father had left. A sharp gasp escaped their mouths, getting her attention. Her eyes widened, the fear returning. Gar ignored the fear and ran over to her. She jerked away from him. Her eyes suddenly narrowing.
"You. You woke him up." They all looked ashamed, knowing it was then who woke him. Her eyes were teary, filed with anger and hurt. Jinx reached out.
"Rachel-" Rachel slapped her hand. Jinx retreated, eyes going wide with the other's.
"Don't. Don't touch me. Just leave me alone." She ran up the stairs before they could respond.

Wow, much more dramatic than I thought it would turn out. Like I said, kinda making this up as I go. Can you please tell me what you think? Jeez, reading through this and I'm like "Why do I made their lives so miserable?" And then I think about how I'm in control of this and how happy it will be in the end. Aww man, I'm rambling again. Anyway, please comment!
