"Mrs. Starlight!" Flan screams.

Mrs. Starlight comes running down the stairs toward Flan. "What's wrong?" Mrs. Starlight asks very concerned.

"I'm very very sad."

"Yes, I can see that, but why are you sad?"

"The kids in the neighborhood keep bullying me. They keep on saying that because my mother ran away I'm stealing somebody else's mother. But I didn't steal you. I just want to play with you. Please make them stop Mrs. Starlight." Flan says whimpering as a tear drop, drops one by one.

"Don't cry, Flan," Mrs. Starlight replies wiping Flan's tears and blowing her nose. "Your neighbors just don't seem to understand the meaning of having an adult friend. Flan, when someone says something to you just grab those words, put it into your mouth and swallow it. Because then you are saying to them that those words have no more meaning. But, make sure you don't say anything back to them because then the words might come back out. Okay?"

"Okay. Thank you, Mrs. Starlight. You're the bestest friend I've ever had. I don't want you to ever leave my side," Flan says hugging Mrs. Starlight.

"You'll get more friends when you go to school, and the only way to do that is for you to become really smart. Let's go learn!" Mrs. Starlight says picking up Flan onto her shoulders.

"Yay!! I feel like I'm flying. This is so fun. I wish I could fly like this forever. I wish I was a bird."

"A bird? And why is that?"

"Because birds having wings that allow them to fly anywhere they want and anytime they want. And I want to fly to your house every day. And also because it's fun flying in the sky, with my wings going through the breeze. It makes me feel like I'm floating and I'm free," Flan smiles.

"You are such an imaginative little girl." Mrs. Starlight picks Flan off her shoulders and onto the couch. She crouches next to Flan and says, "Flan, listen to me very clearly and listen to every word that comes out of my mouth. I'm only going to tell you once, there's going to be a day where I'm not gonna be here to pick you back up, when you fall down. So when someone puts you down and you feel like crying, swallow that pain and fear. It's okay to be sad sometimes but other times I want you to be brave and show them that you Flan Flake will never surrender or yield to their words and doings. And Flan stay as the way you are and don't change just because you feel like there's nothing else in the world left for you because, where there is dark there will always be light to shine through it."

"Why are you saying this Mrs. Starlight?" Flan asks confused.

Mrs. Starlight knew that Flan didn't understand a signal word she had said. "Just for amusement."

"Well, that wasn't very funny."

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

"Now enough of that nonsense. Let's go back to teaching and learning from one another."

"Can we race to the study room?"

"Yeah, let's do that." Mrs. Starlight and Flan line up next to one another, ready to race.

"Are you mark, get set, go!" Flan begins running with her short chubby legs while Mrs. Starlight walks slowly as possible to let Flan win.

"YES!!!!! I won!! In your face, Mrs. Starlight," Flan says sticking out her tongue.

"Wow, you're getting faster," Mrs. Starlight was proud. "Since we had so much fun, let's sit down in the study circle and began learning."

"Arg. We shall," Flan says Imitating a pirate.

Mrs. Starlight goes to the bookshelf and grabs two books. She walks over to Flan and hands one to her as she sits down. Turn to chapter two." Flan turns to chapter two. "I want you to read the first sentence of the chapter."
