Male Nurse: "Negative"

Nat: "Don't do this to me, Nick. Don't do this to me"

the doctors as they continue to revive Fury but Fury is still showing as flatlining, Steve turns away as they finally call his time of death

Doctor: "What's the time?"

Female Nurse: "1:03, Doctor"

Doctor: "Time of death, 1:03 a.m"

Max, Nat and Steve are in a room where Fury's dead body has been laid out, Natasha is looking at Fury's body with tears running down her face, Hill and y/n joins them not long after.

Maria Hill: "I need to take him. Max, if you could stay for a while, that'd be appreciated"

Max: "of course"

Steve: "Natasha"

she doesn't respond, instead she tenderly touches Fury's head then turns and walks out, both Steve and y/n follow her

Steve: "Natasha!"

Natasha Romanoff: "Why was Fury in your apartment?"

Y/n: "wait, what?"

Steve: "I don't know"

Their suddenly interrupt by rumlow.

Rumlow: "Cap, they want you and the kid back at SHIELD"

Steve Rogers: "Yeah, give me a second"

Brock Rumlow: "They want you now"

Y/n: "that's totally not suspicious"

Steve: "Okay"

Nat: "You're a terrible liar"

Y/n: "I'm getting so confused"

Sitwell: "STRIKE team, escort Captain Rogers back to SHIELD immediately for questioning. And make sure to bring the kid"

Rumlow: "I told him"

Steve: "Let's go"

Rumlow: "Yeah. STRIKE, move it out"

Pierce: "For whatever it's worth, you did your best

Sharon: "Thank you, sir"

As she turns to leave, she notices Steve standing there

Sharon: "Captain Rogers"

Steve: "Neighbor"

Pierce: "Ah, Captain. I'm Alexander Pierce"

Steve Rogers: "Sir, it's an honor"

they shake hands

Y/n: "um... h-hey? I'm here too. I'm probably just not visible from behind Steve's massive muscles"

Pierce: "ah, I knew someone was missing, Tennyson, it's good to finally meet you"

Y/n: "i-its good to meet you too sir"

Pierce: "Come on in"

they enter Pierce's office where he shows Steve an old photo of Fury with Pierce

Pierce: "That photo was taken five years after Nick and I met. When I was at State Department in Bogota. ELN rebels took the embassy, and security got me out, but the rebels took hostages. Nick was deputy chief for the SHIELD station there. And he comes to me with a plan. He wants to storm the building through the sewers. I said, "No, we'll negotiate." Turned out the ELN didn't negotiate, so they put out a kill order. They stormed the basement, and what did they find? They find it empty. Nick had ignored my direct order and carried out an unauthorized military operation on foreign soil. He saved the lives of a dozen political officers, including my daughter"
