When Joe got home, his mother screamed at him, "Joe Diaz, why in the world do you have a black eye the day before we are getting pictures taken.
"B-But," stammered Joe.
"No 'buts'!" Screamed his mother. "I want you up in your room, with no video games."
Joe stomped up the steps and slammed his door.
"Mister," cried his mother. "If you ever slam your door again, you will be grounded for a month."
The next day, it was time for Joe's family to get pictures. Joe was the only one who wasn't allowed to get a picture.
I wish, thought Joe, that Scott would never bully me again. I can't believe I wasn't allowed to get ice cream on the day my family and I eat ice cream together and watch a movie. My mom thought I shouldn't even go to school on Monday. I still can't believe that I got in trouble because of that big bully Scott!
On Monday, his mother didn't send him to school like she warned.
"Joe," said his mother. "You should be mad at yourself for getting a black eye!"
"But I didn't get the black eye," Joe screamed.
"Then how is it on your face?" Asked his mother.
"Well, I got the black eye, but it wasn't my fault that I got it," said Joe.
"Then whose was it?" His mother asked.
"It was the fault of a bully named Scott. He beat me up and gave me a black eye. He also makes fun of me," said Joe.
"Well, why didn't you tell me this sooner?" Asked his mother.
"Because it wasn't a problem until Friday," said Joe.
"Then I would like to have a talk with Scott's mother," said Joe's mother.
"Well, that's a problem," said Joe, "Because I have no idea where Scott lives."
"This is the worst day of my life," Joe muttered under his breath.
"What was that, mister?" His mother asked him.
"Nothing," said Joe.
"Oh yes it was, mister," said his mother.
"I said it wasn't anything!" Joe screamed.
"whoa mister"said his mother "you better watch the atitude'
"no you watch it mom"cried Joe
