Here we come, riding down the street
We get the funniest looks from everyone we meet
Hey, hey we're the Hobbits,
And people say we're fooling around
But we're too busy eating
To come up with a witty rebound
Here I go on an adventure,
To a land far out East
To help some dwarves get their home back
From a greedy beast.
To get there we must go
Through an Elvish city so fair
Cold dark caves and treacherous woods
And staying the night with a giant bear.
Hey, hey I'm the Hobbit,
And people say I'm fooling around
But I'm too busy thieving
To come up with a witty rebound.
I've inherited his treasure
Including this magic gold ring
But Gandalf comes and tells me
It's a very dangerous thing.
So here I go on my adventure
To get it out of the Shire
And head out East to
Throw it in a mountain of fire.
Hey, hey we're the Hobbits,
And people say we're fooling around
But we're too busy eating
To come up with a witty rebound.
I was caught eavesdropping
On Gandalf and Frodo talking
About the Shire in danger
From Bilbo's magic, golden ring.
So off I go on this adventure
With my brother and dearest friend
For whom I'd do anything
Even going to the bitter end.
Hey, hey we're the Hobbits,
And people say we're fooling around
But we're too busy eating
To come up with a witty rebound.
I figured Frodo was leaving
When we saw that Black Rider
So I decided to help him
Get to Bree where we met Strider.
So I will go on this adventure
Getting captured and befriending trees
Serving the King of Rohan
And bringing the Nazgul to his knees.
Hey, hey we're the Hobbits,
And people say we're fooling around
But we're too busy eating
To come up with a witty rebound.
I was hanging out with Merry
Pulling another one of our stunts
When we learned Frodo was in danger
From a Rider on the hunt.
So let's go on this adventure
Foolish decisions and narrow escapes
Becoming a guard of Gondor
To save our lovely landscapes.
Hey, hey we're the Hobbits,
And people say we're fooling around
But we're too busy eating
To come up with a witty rebound.
So now it's done and the war is over
The Ring was destroyed in the mountain of fire
Time for a grand celebration
And return home to the Shire.
Yet for me, the wounds run too deep
And the Ring nearly destroyed my mind
I'll go with the Elves across the sea
And leave the Shire behind.
So here at the shores we say farewell
Never again will you feel the Shire's soft grass
But we hope we'll meet again
When the world has turned to silver glass.
Hey, hey we're the Hobbits,
And people say we're fooling around
But we're too busy smiling
To hide that we're feeling down.
Hey, hey we're the Hobbits,
And we just saved Middle-Earth
We're hailed as great heroes
But we just want to relax by the hearth.
