Aye, before a story can have excitement, we need to look a bit into the past. I was born in Ireland, around the 1700-1800's. Me ma was a beautiful woman with a pelt of pure fire. Her eyes shone bluer than the ocean on a cold night. Her fur was a silky softness that words cannot comprehend. She always wore the same rugged dress. Well, copies of the same rugged dress. She always looked beautiful in them. My father was just like all of you reading this. An average human being. He had the curliest blonde hair a man could have, and he looked like he could walk the entirely of Ireland and back while carryin' an anchor! His eyes shone a beautiful shade of hazel, too. You'd think he was a tad bit frightening, but I've only met one person that's ever managed to go beyond the kindness he showed me.

My pa was a sailor, that I can remember very well. And I do believe my mother was a teacher. Aye, we were far from upper class, but we never went to bed on an empty stomach. I even did my fair share to help after school. Because, y'know, times were a fair bit different. Ah, yes, school, that be a very important part of this story. I believe I was around 11 in human years. I've lost track of time when it comes to years. Anyways, it was around that time I'd met Percy. I breathed a breath of pure relief the moment he came into the classroom on his first day. 'Twas an opportunity to be able to meet someone that wasn't going to ridicule me for being different. Aye, hard to if you're the same.

Percy's a pretty big cat, almost twice the size of me own father. His fur was almost the same as mine, though it was apparent he had a lot more tabby than marmalade in his veins. Oh boy, his eyes too. I've caught myself staring into them for long periods of time. He doesn't like interfering with much, so he mostly just lets it happen. His eyes be a beautiful shade of emerald green. It's almost like getting lost in an actual emerald. They sure shine like one, too! He never really wore much, just some suspenders suited him well. If a place required a shirt, he'd usually just (reluctantly) put on a plain white shirt. But aye, that's enough gushin' over Percy. I just remembered I need to introduce meself to you.

The name's Connor Wellerman. I'm a marmalade cat, taking most of my physical appearance from my mother. My eyes are a much lighter shade, almost looking like the sky on a spring afternoon. My fur isn't as delicate, but it's still got some softness. Percy likes petting it when he can't get himself to focus. Just like my father, I mostly only wore a nice white and blue sailor's outfit. You know, little cap with the ribbon and everything. I've been sailing for what is literally too many years to count! Something to mention about my particular outfit, it's a v-neck one. I like a bita chest fluff showin' itself. Me claws never seem to be able to really get dull no matter how hard I try. I got no explanation for that one.

Where was I? Ah, that's right. I got meself plenty of time to get to know Percy. He ended up also workin' under me pa. He made the cargo loading process a lot quicker. Well, when he wanted to focus that is. You see, Percy has a bit of trouble getting himself to focus on anything in particular, no matter how bad he really wants to. He delayed a whole loading by 20 minutes because we had to chase him down after he started running after a butterfly. He ended up keeping that butterfly and named it "Unocia." Remember that butterfly for later, it becomes real important to the story.
