I put my hand out and wave it on the unusual sign in front of me

It's not an object, my hand just phases through it. Wait! Something appeared behind the sign, a door! Is that the door to the afterlife?

Hmm... I'll go in later... For now I'll keep investigating, I am a bit too skeptical of this.

"Welcome to Galaxy Online NPC 'Dievollo'."

NPC...

If I remember correctly, NPC means Non Player Character in video games, right?

Does this mean I am going to be a NPC once I go in that door...?

No. That can't be possible, whatever weird kink this God has, that door must just lead to the afterlife.

So there are weird Gods as well. Hmm. Never expected that.

This must be a door to the actual afterlife. Hm, I still don't understand why this God would do such a confusing thing to unfortunate souls like mine.

Dievollo: Aria, please keep waiting, I'm almost there.

My voice echoes throughout the room.

A smile forms on my face.

Will I really be able to meet my precious little brat once more?

There is a possibility she is also in this world.

If there's just a 1% or less chance then please... I just want to meet her.

Well enough thinking, I have to investigate again.

A similar screen appeared in front of me again, like from earlier, bur showing different texts. Looks like playing so many videogames with Aria payed off.

A yellow screen appears in front of me, there are many square looking tabs on it, but the first square has a book on it.

Very well, let's read it. Not like I have much of a choice anyway.

I take my hand out and try to take the book out of the square, for some odd reason it worked, I guess this afterlife really does work like a videogame, albeit very realistic.

I open the book to see a title page:

"NPC Guide for Dievollo"

I continue to read.

"Hello, NPC Dievollo, you are an NPC in this, or rather, my game, Galaxy Online. You are tasked with being a hidden NPC, please follow the following:"

Interesting, I read more.

"1: Do not, I mean absolutely do not let the other players know that you are aware that you are in this world, otherwise you will be struck by lightning, deleted, in other words, dead, death for you! Do not do that! Number 1! Absolutely NO GO!"

Alright alright I get it. I just have to act like an NPC like from the old games right?

"2: You can be evil or good if you want, or even neutral, helping both sides."

Simple enough.

"3: You must give out quests and get out of the dungeon once you have been found. You can set the requirements to your quest to however you want, like for example, only level 100 players with fire magic can accept your quest. You can give out the rewards whatever you wish, please just don't overdo or dish out little rewards for a hard quest, you can, but do it rarely not all the time or I'll have to delete you."

Damn, alright, you damn God, or whatever

"4: You have skills and buffs, use them."

That's obvious, since this is a Gameworld after all.

"5: Make sure to have fun! (PS: Players start appearing in 2 days! Make sure to prepare or hide your dungeon! Have fun!)"

Oh, are players like, people? Living humans like me?

Ouch. It burns, the book literally burnt in my hands as I closed it. Hm, weird but I guess it's a safety measure.

Well then let's check out the features.

This must be a very fun afterlife!

I then proceed to check out every function in me, skills, etc.
