Chapter 13 | Chihiro Wants to Become Stronger?

"Really? Not sure I can believe that..." Hina "muttered".

"J-Just shut up...I got it! I'll make you a promise as a man!" Mondo said.

Chihiro looked up at him. Tears were still leaking from her eyes and she sniffled.

"Promise...as a man?" She questioned.

"Maybe I mentioned this before, but... Ever since I was a kid, there was one thing my brother told me over and over again... He said that no matter what, a real man ALWAYS keeps his promises. That's what he left me." Mondo explained.

"Left you...?" Hifumi questioned hesitantly.

"Oh, yeah... My brother's dead." Mondo added. (The women was to stunned to speak)

"So that's why he said that when we hung out..." I thought.

"Oh...I see..." Makoto trailed off.

"Anyway, I don't wanna talk about it. Don't wanna make all you guys cry! Anyway, so you can trust me when I make that promise. So you don't gotta cry anymore!" Mondo said, grinning. (I love Mondo 😭)

"O-Okay. Thank you...Mondo." Chihiro smiled up at him.

"S-Sure..." Mondo said, stuttering a bit.

Chihiro's happy mood then went down again.

"But...I still don't like how I am right now. I have to get stronger... If I'm so weak anything can make me cry...that's not good." Chihiro said.

"Still, don't stress out too much about having to get stronger." Makoto said to her.

"No...I want to get stronger. Maybe I should...start working out..." Chihiro said more to herself than anyone else.

"In that case, I would be happy to help you out anytime." Sakura said, smiling at Chihiro.

"Yeah, I could help you too." I add.

"B-But then Miss Fujisaki would get smashed into a billion pieces!" Hifumi shrieked.

"Shut up, you." Aoi said, annoyance in her voice.

Chihiro giggles and a smile appears on her lips.

"Ohh, finally cracked a smile, huh?" Yasuhiro questioned.

"Y-Yeah... Everyone...thank you." Chihiro stutters a bit as she smiles.

Maybe if we continue to help each other out, we could prevent another murder from happening. And maybe even find a way out of here. That small sliver of hope put a smile on my face. But our biggest concern right now is the certain two who didn't come to the breakfast meeting this morning.

After the breakfast meeting came to an end, nothing much else was going on. It was boring so I decided to go and find someone to hang out with.

"Maybe I could look for Mondo..." I muttered.

I tried knocking on Mondo's door to see if he was in his room. I didn't get an answer.
