y/n's pov:

"y/n stop doing the dishes!" karl whined, tugging at my sleeve

"we need to go now or itll close!"

i set down the dish with a laugh and turned off the water drying my hands

i saw his eyes widen quickly grabbing the keys to his car and taking my hand

"slow down k" i giggled

he unlocked the car tugging his hand back and running towards his side of the car, letting me get into the passenger seat

"we need to get there early so that the rude people aren't their who always honk"

"dude" i laughed

he threw his shoulders up starting the car and playing Christmas music, we made our way to the towns light show. everyone loved to go at night, going early in the morning avoided rude ass people and their attitudes. regardless, it was only karl and i so it was more meaningful

"not to ruin the moment or anything, but wouldn't you wanna hangout with taylor for christmas?" i nervously played with my fingers

"well yea" at that response, my smile faded

"sorry your mom said no" i mumbled

"nah its okay, the light show is our thing anyway we never miss it"

i nodded happily, still in the back of my head thinking wether this was a back up plan or if he genuinely wanted to be with me right now

"cmon karl" i ran out the car and to the playground that was always at the end of the light show

"get in the car you dumbass its cold!" he shouted

i ignored him, grabbing snow that was below me and forming it into a ball where i threw it on his windshield of the car. i saw his mouth go wide shocked at what happened, and when i saw him step out of the car and run my way i turned around trying not to get caught

"im not running after you, you could've cracked the glass!" i heard him yell, i kept laughing as i kept running

soon he jumped on me making me fall into the snow and he tickled me on top of me. he threw all the snow that was around us on my face

"OK ok! i get it get off karl" i giggled trying to kick him off

he grinned confidently, getting up and helping me up aswell

i heard a family laugh behind me, unconsciously turning around to see who it was to see someone familiar

taylor?

my smile had disappeared, eyeing the family that grew bigger coming closer towards us

"taylor?!" i heard karl yell

"karl!"

she told her family to keep going without her, pointing in our direction and waving them off as she ran towards us

"what are you doing here" his smile grew wide

my heart ache watching them hug, kiss for about 5 seconds and stare at each other deeply in love. it hurt me so bad. she looked at me waving at me and sending me a huge smile and i faked one back, then playing with the snow below me with my feet

"i saw this really really realllllly cute necklace karl i wanna show you" she begged

"youll be good out here y/n? just for a sec" he smiled

i nodded and he grinned waving and walked away with her laughing

why the fuck did i say yes?

i had a headache coming in and i got frustrated, groaning outloud, they come whenever i get upset, or when i felt like crying

i need to go home

taking out my phone i called angie

"angie" 

"imm at a partyyyyy" she slurred

"oh lord are you drunk?" i chuckled

"mmmhhhmmm" 

"god have fun, be safe!" i yelled before ending the call

then i clicked nicks contact

"hey?"

"pandas" my voice cracked

"ew you never call me what do you need" he laughed

"just. can you come pick me up?"

"..arent you with karl?" his voice got serious

"was" i corrected

"what he do this time oh my god"

"taylor was coincidentally here. he left to be with her just i wanna go home"

"meet me at the front of the gift shop im coming"
