xi. retrouvailles

"And I am about to get that out of you," My voice firmly declared. "It may not be a quick process but rest assured. The moment I step out of here and divorce you, these fevers will not bother you," I paused at one point, staring back at the black embodiments of his eyes. "Ever again."

"How can you be sure?" He seemed unfazed about everything I said and raised a question.

"There is indeed a plant that can cure you," I opened my notebook and rummaged through its pages. It wasn't too long when I finally hummed and showed him a sketch.

"This plant is called the essence of hibiscus. The petals itself can eliminate any sort of fevers permanently but the crisis here is that it only blooms during autumn." I frowned before I grabbed the tea situated on his desk and poured it on the milk beside it. "But it's still summer, which meant that I will help you when your convulsions come back by the time. And the moment autumn has arrived, I will concoct an elixir and until then," We are finally going to divorce.

He did not respond, as always. Maybe Jongho was right when he mentioned that he and Yeosang would totally get along well. Speaking too much seems to be a hassle for them with no particular reason.

However, Seonghwa's brows creased as he darted at my movements as I poured a glass of milk in a tea.

"What are you doing?"

"Here taste it," A smile of victory plastered my face as I handed it to him. "It's Milktea."

He lifted a perplexed brow, unfamiliar with the word. He did not accept it but I nudged it near him. "It would've tasted good with boba and ice, but there's none and that's unfortunate." I laughed before I stood up from the chair and faced the prince who was still eyeing the milk tea like it is an unidentified entity.

"Until then, Your Majesty." I bid him goodbye before I paced toward the door.

He did not respond at all but when I was about to close the door behind me. My gaze slightly flickered behind me and caught him reluctantly sipping the milk tea.

I noticed how he immediately widened his eyes, bewildered by its taste. I scoffed at his gesture before I closed the door behind me.

That man... Is truly bizzare.

..

I went back to my courtyard and I slept again. It wasn't too long when night finally came when Yunho escorted me to eat dinner. There were little discussions with me between the boys except for Seonghwa, who was silently glaring at everyone the entire time, and the small beams of the little girl, Eun.

After we finished eating I bid Chaehwa and Yeosang a good night. Fortunately as promised by the concubine, she accepted the both of them to live in the palace and gave them a title as a duch and duchess. Even though we may not see each other often I know they are finally living a lavish life, and they deserved that after everything they sacrificed for me. They are like my parents.

I sighed before I entered my chamber, basked myself in a warm shower and afterward, I immediately succumbed to sleep.

Amidst the night, cold sweat trickled through my temples as I stirred on the bed. Having the sudden urge to relieve myself.

Shaking my head I unwrapped my body before I entered the washroom. I was about to sit back in my bed afterward when I realized, there is no way I will be sleeping again anytime soon.
