Note: "Blue" refers to Rem, if you didn't know.

As Subaru's mind slowly realized the fact that Regulus was here, he realized something else.

Rem no longer had someone to protect her from attacks.

In the original timeline Rem had already been eaten by Gluttony.

So Subaru took out a paper from one of his pockets and opened it.

Subaru knew that when Gluttony uses his Authority, all traces of someone's name dissapear, whether it be memories or even writing that came from them.

There was a note on the paper that said "good luck" with Rem's name written under it.

If the papar was blank, then Rem was once again eaten and Subaru would stab himself with the knife in his pocket.

If her writing was still there, then that meant that Rem was safe for now.

He opened the piece of paper and....

It was still there, although Subaru wasn't sure if it would stay that way for long. He doesn't know why Regulus is here or why he even came here.

Subaru looked at Regulus with a pleading look.

Subaru:...Regulus...Why are you here?

Of course, Regulus's natural reaction was to scowl at Subaru's words.

Regulus: Didn't we agree that you should call me with the "senpai" honorific? Why is it that you can't even follow through with out agreement? Also, who are you to ask me why I'm here? I will do as I please, since that is within my right of free movement.

But Subaru wasn't looking for that kind of answer, he wanted to know why he wasn't with Rem.

Subaru walked over to Regulus while the two other people stared. He didn't want Julius to hear that he knew about the attack by Gluttony.

Subaru: Didn't we agree that you would protect Rem from Gluttony?

Regulus: We also established that they would be attacked not too long after we left, and yet there was no attack on anyone. I think that you predicted the whole situation wrong, it's a shame really since that means that the fact that you predicted the Mabeast attack was nothing but a fluke, pure luck on your part. It's honestly disgusting, how dare you attempt to fool me like this.

Subaru thought about it, in the original timeline Rem was erased even before they even arrived to prepare against Sloth, in other words that means that the attack was delayed, which was unlikely.

Or that means that Regulus was right and no attack happened.

And judging by the fact that the letter still had Rem's writing on it, he was willing to believe that it was the second option.

But he wondered why the attack didn't happen. The only thing that changed in the Witchcult was the fact that Regulus wasn't there and judging by the fact how unorganized the cult was, he was wasn't sure what happened.

But before Subaru could ponder about that some more, he was interupted by the voice of Regulus.

Regulus: Could you stop staring at me like that? I didn't say anything wrong, so why are you looking at me like that? Do you really think that you can just-

Julius: What are you doing here, Regulus Corneas?

His voice sounded normal, but there was a hint of nervousness behind it.

Subaru had noticed that Julius had turned off Nect by now....Wait, have they just forgotten about Petelgeuse?

Regulus looked at Julius with an apathetic expression before saying...
