The storm was rising fast as the boat began to rock violently from side to side. They prepared as best they could, not yet aware of the terrible events about to take place. Ophelia looked at her sister with amusement as the rain started from the ominous, dark Grey clouds above.

"Seraphine, enough. Babushka is going to kill you." Ophelia's long red hair flowed with the wind as her dark grey eyes glared at her twin sister. She rolled her eyes when Seraphine grinned at her, before looking down the side of the boat, into the deep, dark abyss below them.

"Stop it, O. I've got this." Seraphine's grey eyes glistened with excitement, arrogantly glancing at her sister. She held her hands up to the sky, and closed her eyes. She looked up, her face twitching slightly every time a raindrop hit her face. The twins were out practicing their abilities as per instruction from their grandmother. They were aspiring young witches, descendants of a long line of powerful witches and warlocks. Ophelia looked around them, seeing the waves get bigger, and the wind grew stronger. Huge lightning bolts flashed around them, creating a deafening cracking sound, followed by a ear piercing rumble of thunder. She started becoming worried, as they clouds almost became black.

"Seraphine, seriously. You're scaring me." Ophelia shouted, the noise from the storm was so loud, she could barely hear her sister's chanting.

"Morana! Odolzhi mne svoi volny!" the waves grew larger, almost knocking their boat over.

"Veles! Odolzhi mne svoi dozhd!" the rain started feel like stones. Seraphine opened her eyes and grinned at her twin, hiding herself under her coat.

"Are you afraid? Come on, O. You've been through worse." Seraphine laughed. Suddenly, almost in the blink of an eye, the storm worsened. Ophelia glanced behind Seraphine, squinting her eyes to be able to see through the rain hammering down on them.

"Sera! There's someone behind y-" she pointed and screamed. A lightning bolt hit the water right beside their boat, making Seraphine flinch. She turned to see what her sister was pointing at, and looked behind her. There she saw a winged figure, seemingly hovering above the water. The storm intensified more, as Seraphine tried to reverse her spell. She immediately started chanting, trying to reverse the effect of the storm.

"Sera! Please, make it stop!" Ophelia cried out, sheltering herself from the storm.

"O, it's not me!!" she yelled back, grabbing Ophelia and pulling harshly out of the way of the mast, that had snapped, crashing down towards them. She glanced out into the ocean, and her blood ran ice cold. A massive maelstrom formed, slowly pulling the boat into the gaping hole in the black water.

"What do w do?!" Ophelia screamed, as she gripped tightly onto her sister. Seraphine tried thinking of a solution, desperate to find a way out.

"Babushka!! Babushka, please help-" before she could finish, the boat was capsized violently, sending the twins flying off the safety of the boat. They immediately felt pins and needles when they fell into the icy water. They gasped for air as their breath was knocked away by the shock. Their instincts made them kick, to jump, so desperate, acting as if they were running. Lightning hit next to Seraphine, essentially deafening her instantly. She could faintly hear her own voice, screaming as she saw Ophelia disappear under water. She was no longer strong enough to stay above the colossal waves, she swallowed a huge amount of salty black water, before sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss. Her eyes stung as she opened her eyes under water, seeing the lights of the boat far below her. She opened her mouth in a silent scream as a huge shadow the size of a bus between her and the lights from the . Briefly a massive eye was illuminated, glaring at her. Her lungs started burning, as she kept trying to breathe, fighting against her primal instincts to take a breath. Her mind unhinged and she clawed at her throat and her lungs, stopping herself from inhaling. The pressure drop made her eardrums explode and put a terrible pressure on her chest. Eventually, her arms and legs too tired, she couldn't hold her breath any longer, her lungs giving in as she took a deep breath in the deep water. She inhaled more and more water, her body kept sinking. She started feeling lightheaded, before a sudden and deadly calm washed over her, as if waking from a deep sleep. Her vision started to spot as she got vivid hallucinations due to the lack of oxygen to her brain. And then finally, without any sign of fear for death, she lost consciousness.
