I can't tell how long it's been. Really I can't. I try to remember the past few days but all I can remember is Dale helping me get my full strength back. So far, he still hasn't told me what happens back at our encounter with the Careers, and quite honestly, that's fine with me. "Dale," I ask "Yes?" "How long have we been here?" Dale looks at me and then laughs. "What?!" I ask. Dale smiles and says, "Nothing, you just look so cute right now." I sit up and stare at Dale. "What?" He says. "Nothing," I say, mocking him. "You just look so cute right now." He laughs, and I suddenly realize how honest to god cute he looks. Like, damn. "Julia!" Dale shouts, snapping me out of my trance. "WHAT!" I yell back. Dale almost doubles over laughing. "Nothing," he says. "You just looked far to happy over in Julia world." I laugh, and wonder if it's possible to love anyone as much as I am loving him right now. "God," I think to myself. "He really is hot isn't he." I look back over at Dale, his gaze having drifted to more important matters. I sat, and watched his mind at work, until I to felt my mind begin to wander.
I wake up to the sound of cannons. I don't know how many, and I don't know what time it is. I crawl over to Dale. Or, to where Dale should be. It takes me a moment that Dale, isn't here. I whip around. "DALE!" I shout. Oh god no. I get up and head aimlessly off into the wood. "DALE!" I shout again. I soon realize that there is no use in yelling, so I sit on an old fallen tree. It's dark, but in the dim moonlight I can faintly mark out the outline of a shirt. I grab it. It's Dale's. And it's stained in blood.
