Hello guys! So I decided to start my guide off by helping you along with one of the most Basic, but one of the most well know art subjects: Shading! I will make three parts to teaching our how to shade, different Shading techniques, Etc. I will try to make them as short and as easy as possible! Thanks for reading!
* In the drawing shown above, (which is my own artwork) you will notice that in some areas, the shading looks smooth, and well-blended into the dragon. That is because, using my mechanical pencil, I lightly pressed against the paper, leaving streaks Across areas of the dragon. Then, taking my finger, I pressed against these area and rubbed them, shading it in. This is the technique I use most often in my artwork/ pieces.(this is called smudging :3)The other technique is where you can just shade in certain areas with your pencil, and leave them. I use the other technique to make it look more refined, and at times more realistic.
