Katsuki Bakugou, blonde spiky hair, red angry eyes, and bully to Izuku Midoriya throughout their childhood, had burned the poor greenet's journal. He tossed it out the window of the school as he spoke the most yet damaging words he'd ever spoken to the smaller boy. "Why don't you pray for a quirk in the next life and take a swan dive off the roof?" A challenging look in his eyes, and a chuckle slipped out as he walked away with his lackeys.
Izuku's, bushy green hair, bright green eyes, and small, weak body, struggled to hold in his tears as he walked to the pond his notebook had fallen into so he could retrieve the burnt scraps. He felt broken. He didn't know what to do. He knew he wouldn't become a hero at this rate. He was weak, just like Katsuki had said their entire lives.
On his walk home, Izuku began to feel less sad, and more numb. He lost feeling all together by the time the sludge monster attacked him. However when it did attack, he was filled with a rage the river that of his tormentor. Adrenaline shot through his body as he fought for his life. He kept telling himself that that was not how he was going to die. He still had so much he wanted to do.
Just as he was about to give up, Allmight appeared to save the day. As soon as he was freed, he coughed and vomited sludge everywhere. When he was back to breathing normally, he turned to Allmight and asked his question. "Allmight, is there anyway I can be a hero, even if I'm quirkless?"
The giant man stilled and turned to the boy he had just saved. Looking him over before answering. "I'm sorry my boy, it's not possible." And then he leapt into the sky sludge monster in his pocket. Izuku frowned slightly before returning home.
When he entered the house, he quickly noticed he was home alone again. His mother often worked late, so she was rarely home to greet him. He made his way to his room and flopped onto his bed. He felt drained from what had just happened. Physically and emotionally. It didn't take long for him to fall unconscious either.
Each day after that, Izuku strength trained. He studied in his free time so he could take the end of year tests early so he wouldn't have to attend school the rest of the year. This would give him more time to learn new skills that would help him get into U.A., the biggest hero school in all of Japan. He did in fact pass all of his tests with the highest marks. On the first try too.
As a result of him taking all the tests early and passing, he didn't have to attend school with the rest of his classmates. He used that time to build muscle mass and train himself in skills such as any and all weapons he could get his hands on and gymnastics. His collection of weaponry including cross bow, long bow, compound bow, daggers, shorts words, long swords, Katanas, and fencing. He also managed to get his hands on a hand gun. Though he had to be careful where he trained with that due to them being illegal in Japan.
He had gotten an undercut but kept the top of his hair a little to keep out of his face and controlled. He also had a part time job along with the money his mother would give him for lunch to help him pay for all of the weapons, her not having known he no longer attended school. By the time try outs for U.A. came around, he was familiar with more than just those few, however he was most versed with those. Especially the cross bow, daggers, short swords, and hand gun. He was confident that he could handle himself well. Izuku also had a trick up his sleeve that no one would see coming.
He passed the written exam with top marks. Then there was the practical. Which wasn't very practical in his opinion. He managed to take down three 3 pointers in the first 15 minutes using his cross bow alone. Once the zero pointer showed up he had already killed six 1 pointers, four 2 pointers, and seven 3 pointers. He was just going to walk away from the zero pointer until he saw a short brown haired girl pinned and unable to move. Reluctantly, he took a couple steps in front of her.
"Plug your ears." He commanded her. She did so immediately. As soon as he saw she had done as he had said, he pulled out what looked like a metal arrow. He took the long bow off his back, notched the arrow, and fired it into the "eye" of the massive robot. A high pitched ringing emitted from the arrow as soon as it made contact, causing all that heard it to scream and cover their ears. All except for Izuku. He stood tall and still as the sonic wave produced by the arrow, blew debris everywhere.
That's when the bell signalling the end of the exam rang. He walked up to the girl, helped her up, and walked away without so much as a word to anyone. When he got home a couple days later, a letter was waiting for him. It was on his desk, meaning his mother must have gotten home before him and put it there for him. He opened it, and All night appeared on the screen, telling him of how proud he was of his work and that he was happy to announce that he had made it into class 1A.
For the first time in a while, Izuku felt actually happy. Excited even. The green haired boy ran to to the roof of his building and yelled in excitement. He had never expected to get into class 1A. But he was in and class was going to start in just a couple of weeks. Wanting to make a good first impression, he not only had some shopping to do, but he was also going to continue to up his training. He wanted everyone who was going to be in his class to appreciate his strength, and not just see him as a weak nerd.
