"It's the new case."
The police station was frantic. Red and blue lights flashed brightly and the distant cries of the police cars echoed in the air.
"Sir!" A women in all white ran up to the officer, pushing her way through the crowd of people tearing through files. Her face was splotched with dust and coal; her once perfect strawberry blonde strands escaping over her face. Her white outerwear was soaked in blood in places, and it trickled down from her mouth grotesquely. As she made her way to the officer, she collapsed to the ground and he caught her, checking over her for signs of injuries.
"I couldn't stop them..." she spluttered. "I couldn't..."
"Dr Birchall..don't worry." The officer assured.
Staring into her sapphire blue eyes that were filled with worry and anxiety, he shook his head sombrely at the sight.
This had been a fail. No success of any kind.
She breathed one last shaky breath before her once joyful and determined eyes closed and her hand that was clutching her open wound fell to the ground slowly.
The officer felt a cold tear run down his face and his stomach felt like someone had stabbed a knife through it. He raised his bloodstained hand to his pager and began pressing the buttons.
"This is Officer Spencer. Birchall dead. Time of death: 23:04. Date: 13th of May 1984. As of right now, we are in a battle between time and luck, our mission is to find the child: Harvey Williams."
