It was a lonely afternoon when George had finished unpacking his luggage. He looked at the two story house that was built in 1972.
It had been untouched for years and nobody dared move in after the passing of a powerful man.
George didn't understand what was so terrifying about the house. The death had happened years ago and everything about it looked.. normal.
He sighed and grabbed the black key from his pocket. The brunette was on his way to the porch when a ball flew past him.
He turned around and looked at the cause of the flying ball. There, stood 3 teen aged boys laughing and high-fiving each other.
"Welcome to the neighborhood, loser!" The oldest boy shouted. George gave him a mean smile before rolling his eyes and walking in.
The door creaked and swung open slowly. The place was dusty and gave off a chilly vibe.
It was dark and grim, the only light being sun rays.
George looked around and gave a disappointing sigh before dropping his luggage.
The tall male closed the door and locked it. He decided to explore a bit before unpacking since the trucking holding all his furniture wouldn't arrive until later.
He walked up the stairs slowly and looked at the walls. They were painted a soft blue and was decorated with flowers.
The thing that caught his eye though, was the small table at the end of the hallway with an odd looking telephone. His eyes widened slightly.
'It's one of those antique phones..' He thought as he walked toward it slowly, debating wether he should pick it up or not.
George was about to grab it when he heard knocking.
He walked down the stairs quickly and opened the door, looking up, only to be met with brown eyes.
"Oh, Hey! I'm Nick, your neighbor! Just wanted to come say hi and give you these!"
The kind boy showed George the basket of sweets.
"Oh, thank you Nick. I'm George by the way. Why don't you come inside?"
The brunette gave a simple smile. "Uh, yeah I'd love that!"
George took the basket from him and stepped aside, allowing his new neighbor in.
"Gee, This place is creepy! What made you buy it?" Nick looked around and turned to George.
"I actually don't know. It was for sale and I had moved out of my parents house so I bought it."
George closed the door and locked it, turning to Nick. He excused himself and walked to the kitchen.
He placed the basket on the counter and smiled, he walked back to the entrance.
George found Nick sitting on the floor. He smiled slightly.
