I hate the misconceptions for age so much. No, when the number frosted onto your cake goes up a number that doesn’t mean you’re a different person now. You are the same person you were a year ago and you’re the same person you were ten years ago. You are allowed to feel as if you are seven and helpless when you’re thirty with a kid to look after and a loving companion. You’re allowed to feel as if you’re thirty and mature when you’re thirteen and learning about yourself. No, I’m not “mature” for my age. I’ve just found the adult in me when others may not have. I can be seven and happy with life and be ninety and done with my life at the same time. I’m allowed to feel childish and jealous but be an adult enough to know not to act on my urges. Why does nobody understand this?
