Jai stiffened hearing her question. Avu lifted her hand.
Ree: Woah, expect nahi kiya tha koyi haat uthayega. ( Woah, I didn't expect any of you to raise your hand.)
Avu: Maine Mr. Duck ko maara tha. Matlab tv par koyi cartoon chal raha tha, jisme ek jane ne kisike pet mein chaku ghusa diya. Woh dekh kar maine apne stuff toy ke saath kiya. Phir jab tv mein usne bola ki woh mar gaya, toh mai roti huyi mummy ke paas gayi ki Mr. Duck ko maar diya maine. Mummy ne phir use phirse stitch kara, aur wo show kabhi nahi dekhne diya mujhe. ( I had killed Mr. Duck. I mean in a tv cartoon I had seen one person stab another person in stomach. Seeing it I did the same to my stuff toy. But when in tv they showed the person died, I went to mummy while crying and said I killed Mr. Duck. Mom stitched it and never let me see that show again.)
All laughed except Jai, who just smiled. They all remembered in childhood where they knew no difference between a toy and human and did many funny or embarrassing things without knowing.
Jai: Us hisaab se toh maine bhi maara hai. Maine ek toy ko latkaya tha, use chota punching bag hota hai jaise, aur phir pata chala ki rassi se latakne par log mar jaate hai, aur mujhe laga wo bhi mar gaya, toh mere bhai ko bataya, aur hum us khilaune ko zinda karne ki koshish kar rahe the the, tab aunty ne bataya ki aisa kuch nahi hota khilauno ke saath. (According to that even I have killed. I had once hung a toy like a small punching back and found out people die on being hung by a rope, so though it died and told my brother and we were trying to make that toy alive, then aunty said us nothing like that happens to toys.)
Avu: Mujhe nahi pata tha tera bhai hai. ( I didn't know you have a brother.)
Jai just smiled hearing her, and was lost in thoughts.
Sid: Yeh toh apne bhai ke khayalo mein hi kho gaya. ( He got lost in his brother's thoughts only.)
He shook Jai, who came back to senses.
Jai: Acha ab meri baari. Never have I ever embarrassed myself in front of a huge crowd. ( Ok now my turn. Never have I ever embarrassed myself in front of a huge crowd.)
Faisu and Ayaan raised their hands.
Fais: Ek baar pura grade auditorium mein tha aur mera phone baja, aur mujhe pata nahi tha ki mere dost ne badal kar ek embarrassing bacho ki tune lagayi thi. ( Once our whole grade was in auditorium and my phone rang, and I didn't know that my friend had changed the ringtone to an embarrassing children's song.)
Vaish: Ha, hum bhi wahi the. Sab ise hi dekh rahe the, aur ise pata bhi nahi chala ki iska phone baj raha hai, jab tak Avu ne bataya nahi. ( Yes, even we were there. All were seeing him, and he didn't even know that his phone is ringing until Avu said.)
Ayaan: Hum ek baar library mein the, aur ikdam shanti thi. Mai aur mera ek friend mobile mein game khel rahe the, aur jeet gaye toh jor se yess chillaye, bhulkar ki library mein hai. ( Once we were in the library and it was silent. Me and my friend were playing game in mobile, and won so shouted yess, forgetting that we are in library.)
Jaan: Library mein kyu khel rahe the? ( Why were you playing in library?)
Ayaan: Kyunki humara padhne ka man nahi tha, lekin udhar hi baithna tha. ( Because we didn't want to study, but had to sit there only.)
Jaan: Library padhne ko hoti hai ki games khelne ko? ( Library is for studying or playing?)
Ayaan: Fais bhai, di ko bolo na. ( Fais bhai, say di no.)
Faisu: Janu, yaha toh chod de bichare ko. ( Janu, let him be here at least.)
Jaan stopped, not before glaring at Ayaan, who always escapes with Faisu's help. Next was Vaishu's turn.
Vaish: Never have I ever stolen anything.
All except Ayaan, Reem and Shivin raised their hands. Ayaan was shocked seeing Jaan raise her hand which Faisnat noticed. Even Faisu was surprised but seeing Ayaan's expressions he chuckled while Jaan looked away.
Jai: Mai aaya 2 minute. Tum sab game continue karo. ( I'll come in 2 minutes. You all continue the game.)
He went downstairs. After sometime he came back, and the game was almost over.
Avu: Jai, mujhe nahi pata tha 2 minute itne lambe hote hai. ( Jai, I didn't know 2 minutes are so long.)
Jai: Sorry, ek important call aaya tha. ( Sorry, it was an important call.)
They finished the game.
Abhi: Jai, apne bhai ke baare mein bata na. Kabhi uske baare mein nahi suna. ( Jai, tell us about your brother no. We never heard about him.)
Jai: Mere bhai ka naam hai... ( My brother's name is...)
