Everything was black for a moment, but only a moment. Air was forcing me upwards but I felt pressure on my chest and back, was I falling? Where was I? How did I get here? Why was everything black? The wind blowing harshly on my face forced my eyes shut, when I opened them I looked around and I saw a beautiful beach with a baby blue sky with snow-white clouds scattered around. Just a moment ago everything was black, but now I'm here, there was a faint buzz in my hoodie pocket. When I pulled out my phone to check, there was one notification: a message from an unknown number.
(866)407-634-5426: Hello Miss, you have arrived in your world. Hope you enjoy your stay.
(I just typed a random number, don't try calling it)
My world? Am I not on Earth anymore? The sky isn't polluted with carbon monoxide and deadly toxins in the air and my cloth mask was missing, although judging by what I assume to be fresh air that I was inhaling, I wouldn't be needing it anymore.
I put my phone in my pocket and stood up to look around, the tranquil waves splashing along the sand and rocks, a calming scene that made me feel at ease instead of being panicked that I had woken up on another planet of some sort. There was a forest with the greenest grass and trees I've ever seen in my life, and so I went over to go touch the grass out of curiosity. The grass was soft and warm from the sun with a slight yellow tint due to it being almost sunset.
I laid on the grass looking up at the sky, which was starting to blend into a light shade of pink and yellow, the clouds now orange and fluffy, reminded me of a Shiba Inu. I stood up again and stretched, enjoying the fresh air that I wasn't used to. Once I snapped out of the sense of comfort this place has put me in, I knew I had to look for a town, a city, a village, anything I can rest in since it was close to night.
I made my way to what I assumed to be a ledge that was overlooking a field. The grass still had its yellow tint; only a little more orange-ish this time with a slight pink to it. I saw what looked like a large old school, a pioneer German-style town with large brick walls and 3 huge windmills peeking over it spinning slowly to the wind. Everything was beautiful, especially when the colors of the sunset poured over it.
Deciding I should look there for a place to stay, and maybe to get some food since all I have were the clothes I was wearing, a charger, my phone, and a small bag i used to keep certain things such as things for makeup touch ups and some female products such as midol, pads, etc. I sighed out of pity for myself, I didn't have any money, how will I get a place to stay for the night?
Grumbling, I started making my way there, hoping that I could find at least shelter to stay in and sleep for the night. It was already night by the time I got there and there was a stall close by to the entrance with a woman standing behind it. I approached her and we had a little chat where she mentioned a tavern that was looking for employees.
Little did I know how that little conversation would change my life.
