Pete and Patrick's wedding was originally supposed to be a month away when Joe killed himself. So they postponed it.
Patrick asked Brendon to be his best man.
Then, the night before their wedding, Patrick gets cold feet and chickens out, leaving Pete at the alter.
Patrick is never seen again, and if he is, he isn't reported to the police.
Pete cannot live without Patrick, after already having lost Andy and Joe, and three years after Patrick disappears, Pete kills himself.
They, much to everyone's dismay, were not remembered for their music. They were remembered as the four idiots who couldn't live without each other.
