Adventures of the Legends

Welcome Home Captain Lance! Part 1

** May contain spoilers for Season 6 of Legends of Tomorrow, since this story takes place after 6x7 (Back to the Finale: Part II)**

After Sara returned from getting abducted by Bishop, the Legends (well, mostly Ava) decided to throw a welcome home party for her. After all that she went through, maybe this would help acclimate her. The Legends were decorating the Waverider while Gary distracted Sara, which as you could guess, Gary was failing at.

"Gary what is going on?" Sara questioned, getting annoyed at his antics.

"What do you mean?" Gary squeaked out.

"I know you're hiding something so spit it out already!"

"I'm not hiding anything!"

"Don't make me ask Gideon..." Sara threatened.

"I told you! Nothing is happening! I just wanted to...." Gary's voice trailed off as he looked around Sara's room. He spotted a small notebook on the bed next to her and quickly reached for it.

"Gary!"

"Sorry, I just get intrigued easily." He looked more intently at it, and again leaned over to grab it. Sara quickly hit his arm away before he could touch it. "Ouch!"

"Oh I guess I still have those old assassin habits."

"No kidding," Gary said while rubbing his arm where Sara had hit him.

"Gideon! What are the rest of the Legends up to?" Sara questioned.

"They're currently by the fabricator, prepping the celebration," Gideon quickly responded.

"Gideon! I told you not to tell her!" Ava said, walking into the room. "Clearly Gary didn't do his job."

"Hey babe," Sara said while Ava sat down next to her. "Whatcha guys planning?"

"Oh it's nothing. You'll see later," Ava responded.

"I'm going to go now...." Gary trailed off as he started to walk out of the room. "You guys might want some alone time to catch up!" He shouted as the doors closed behind him.

Sara and Ava started to laugh. No matter what, Gary seemed to make things somewhat hectic, but he was still a legend and that's what the legends are. Even though Sara would have loved to be kidnaped with Ava, she was slightly glad Gary was there. Except it probably would've been better if he WASN'T the reason she did get abducted. The notebook on the bed caught Ava's eyes.

"Babe, what's this?" Ava asked, going to grab the notebook.

"Oh it's nothing," Sara said, blushing.

"Can I see?"

"I mean...."

"C'mon lemme see! After all, I have been secretly planning your welcome home party."

"Fine, take it."

Ava flipped through the pages slowly, taking it all in.

"Wedding ideas?"

"Yeah, I was thinking of some while I actually worked up the nerve to ask you." Sara smiled at Ava. She was glad to be back with her person, soon to be for the rest of her life, or well, her clone's life. But Ava didn't know that yet, and nor did the rest of the team. Hopefully, they wouldn't need to know, because how would she explain that one. "Here let me show you some of my favorite ones."

They sat back and Sara flipped through the book, pointing things out to Ava who seemed to just be happy to be with Sara at that moment.

"Stupid banner!" Mick grunted, as the banner he was attempting to hang in front of the tv fell down for the tenth time.

"Mick I told you ten time you have to tie it to here!" Astra shouted.

"Okay guys, I think all this decorating has made us a little crazy. Maybe we should take a break?" Behrad suggested, his arms tired of holding the banner up for Mick.

"Why can't we just finish this up already?" Zari asked, getting annoyed of standing around and waiting for instructions. "And why does Spooner get to sit and do nothing?"

"Because she's the newbie?" Behrad asked. Zari gave him a look, and he changed his expression. "Look, I don't know, okay! Don't expect me to have all the answers!"

John walked into the room, and immediately regretted it.

"What is this bloody mess?" John asked, looking around.

"Well, it's supposed to be Sara's welcome home party, but right now it looks like a heap of banners and balloons," Nate said, gesturing to the mess that was behind him.

"Should I help? I can just magic my way around all this..." John said, waiting for someone to say no. "No one disagrees? Okay then."

John said one of his magic spells, and the place was instantly decorated.

"John you have to show me how to do that one day," Astra said, annoyed she didn't know that spell already.

"In due time love," John responded with a small grin. He loved to keep his secrets. "Are we done then? Fantastic, now let's get Sara!"

"Gee John, what's the rush?" Spooner asked, looking up from her book.

"No rush, no rush at all." John responded. But, he did have another motive because he needed to get his magic back and this was in his way of doing that.

"Well, we might want to give her a few minutes of alone time with Ava. Unless, you want to be the one to disturb them," Gary said. Everyone murmured their agreements.

"Well, who wants to get some deserts!" Nate said, walking out of the room.

"I'll come, but we aren't baking them, right?" Astra asked Nate as they walked back to the fabricator.

"Of course not. Why bake when you can just tell Gideon what you want?" Nate said, laughing at that for who knows what reason. He rattled off a list of deserts for Gideon to prepare for the party, and soon enough they were ready. They brought the deserts back to the decorated room, and just waited for Ava and Sara to arrive. Of course, Nate made some extra snacks, since him and Behrad couldn't wait any longer.

"Do you think we should go to the party now?" Ava asked Sara as they laid next to each other.

"I think they can wait just a couple minutes longer, I mean, I am the reason for the party so...." Sara trailed off.

She leaned in and kissed Ava deeply. Man, did she miss the feeling of Ava's kiss, the feeling of Ava herself. Ava pulled Sara in, running her hands through her hair. She was glad she could actually touch Sara, not just rewatching her saying "Tonight, I'm going to propose to my girlfriend!" on her tv screen. They both wanted to cry a little, but only because of how happy they were to see each other, to touch each other, to be with each other. They really were soulmates.
