Y/n POV:

"Wait the girl from the ski lift" Miya said

"Yup that's me" I said while smiling

The other students just looked confused, I don't really know why though, is it that unusual to know someone outside of school?

When the other students went back to their seats miya looked over to me and said

"What are you doing back in Okinawa?"

I replied with "well, my dad recently died and my mom told me and my brother it might be a good idea to move back to her home town, y'know"

He slightly put his head down "I'm sorry I didn't know your dad passed, i shouldn't have asked."

He looked almost embarrassed I almost wanted to laugh, "oh no no no no your totally fine it's not like you could've known"

"Miya, do you wanna sit with me at lunch, or are you gonna go sit with your friends"

His eyes widened at the mention of "friends". "no I can sit with you I guess"

It's weird, when I talked with him on the lift he seemed so much more talkative and happy, now he seems reserved, like he doesn't wanna be here, and doesn't wanna talk to anyone, I'm not gonna ask about it though, we're not that close yet.

He didn't really talk to me at lunch or the rest of day, I was hoping we could be friends but I don't know if that's gonna happen anymore.

After school I was walking past a bus stop and saw Miya catching a base ball using his skateboard. I walked over to him "hm so a rookie really beat shadow" he was smirking

"Who tf is shadow" I said

He immediately put his phone down "oh no one just.. taking to myself?"

"Aww come on it's not like I'm gonna tell anyone, I don't even have friends yet, unless you think I'm gonna tell my big brother or something"

"No, im not telling you"

"Please miya, I'll do a tarot reading for you" that's the only thing I could think of to let me know what he's taking about

"Huh, what's a tarot reading" I can't believe he's never heard of tarot cards

"Umm well basically they are these cards that can tell your past, present and future, basically liek fortune telling but cooler ." He looked doubtful

"How can a deck of cards know that stuff"

"It's a little hard to explain but it's really accurate for everyone I've done it for, and if you tell me whatever this is about, I'll do a reading for you"

He looked at me then at his phone and scoffed

"Fine, but you cannot tell anyone about this, meet me after school and I'll take you to get your badge" he looked serious about this

"Why do I need a badge?"

"I'll explain everything tomorrow"
