Monday morning couldn't come quick enough. All of our belongings are all set up and it actually feels like a home. My father was called in earlier this morning so he's not here. Thankfully. Unfortunately, my parents enrolled me in a private school. I have a uniform, gross.

It's a plaid skirt with a white under shirt and a blue vest. I also have to wear a red tie. I spent all morning trying to figure out to do it. If you check my youtube history you'll see tons of 'how to tie your tie' videos.

I'm so nervous, I think I might throw up. What if no one talks to me? What if I do actually have to sit alone at lunch? What if the girls there are mean? You've seen the movies, private school girls are ruthless. Like come on my mom even watched Gilmore girls with me, she has to know.

God, I don't want to do this. Why did we ever have to leave California?

I grabbed a book from my now fully stocked book shelf and headed downstairs for breakfast. Food usually calms me down.

"Hey sweetheart, hungry?" My mom asks while loading pancakes on a plate.

"Very." I take a seat on the stool on the island and she gives me a plate with pancakes and strawberries.

"So are you excited for your first day?" she asks while plopping a strawberry in her mouth.

My mom is pretty, she has short brown hair that goes up to her shoulders and she's in good shape from her yoga classes she takes every Wednesday. She always wants me to go with her, but I always pass because i'm not even remotely close to being flexible.

"Excited.. Kind of. Nervous.. Yes" I say while shoving a whole bunch of pancake in my mouth.

My mom shakes her head, "Serenity, chew with your mouth closed." I roll my eyes.

"But don't be nervous, princess. What did I promise you yesterday? You'll do amazing and I know without a doubt you'll make so many friends."

"Do you want to bet on that, mom?" I ask, because yeah, I could be friendly but only with people who look friendly back.

She rolls her eyes and takes my empty plate. I really did devour those pancakes.

"Let's go before you're late for school"

Of course, on my first day of schools it's raining. It's like a perfect sign that this day is going to be awful.

The school literally looks like a castle. It's big and pretty old and the drive way leading to it was long.

My mom stops at the front and turns to look at me.

"Here we are!" she says and claps her hands.

"Here we are" I say with a lot less enthusiasm.

"Let me find a place to park and I'll walk in with you"  my mom says while turning around.

I look around and it's packed with kids walking into the school. They're all wearing the same uniforms. Some are laughing with their friends and others are listening to music with headphones in.

We get out of the car and walk into the building. I try not to make eye contact with anyone but no one really seems to be paying attention anyways.

We walk into The Deans office and the secretary tells us to take a seat and wait. The building is old. Everything here kind of reminds me of Hogwarts.

I can feel my mom staring at me so I turn around and face her.

"Yes?" I question. I'll admit i'm on edge because I'm nervous to be here.
