Diary of a Band Girl

The family jumped at breakfast as a moving truck beeped loudly through the neighbourhood of Plainview outside. Frank Heffley complained of the noise as the rest of the family, including a tired eyed Rodrick headed out the front door. While standing on the front lawn they saw new neighbours moving into the right side house from them. Susan was eustatic at the possibility of meeting new people while holding Manny in her arms lightly bouncing him. Greg, Frank and Rodrick complained about the noise and how they'll need to learn new names now. The car finally pulled up to the front of the new house.

"I hope there's a new girl" Greg smiled to himself, "yeah sure little dude, as if you could get her anyway" Rodrick scoffed still shovelling cereal into his mouth while only wearing sweatpants and no shirt, his black hair in a stuck up mess. The doors opened.

"If anything you should be excited they don't know how much of a loser you are yet" Rodrick added with food in his mouth. Until a beautiful grunge looking girl of 17 exited the car she wore black ripped skinny jeans, a black band shirt over the top of a red long sleeve shirt. She had a chain on her hip and a chain around her neck accompanying a long dog tag necklace layered underneath. As she headed up the driveway she tied her long brown hair up into a loose ponytail leaving her long fringe still hiding her smokey emerald eyes darkened with black eyeliner.

"Wow she is pretty" Greg smiled. "Dude she's older than you?" Rodrick spat with his eyes stuck in fixation.
"Oh my god yes" Susan agreed in worry.

"You think you have a chance?" Greg turned to his brother in a snarky tone. "You're right little dude"
"I got this"
"What?" His mum turned to him in confusion.

Soon she noticed the creepy family who were staring at her from their front door. Her face confused at the bunch. The family turn in opposite directions to avoid eye contact while Rodrick only realises his attire and tries to cover his nipples still gripping his cereal bowl and his mouth full of milk. Making the girl giggle as she's escorted inside by both her parents behind her, trailing behind was a boy Greg's age.

The confused family hurried inside followed by a very embarrassed Heffley family. "I gotta get ready, I must know her name" Rodrick jumps in excitement as he hurries upstairs to his room.
