She watched as Muzan ripped open the envelope and opened the letter reading the contents quickly, she felt chills spreading throughout her body when she saw the demon smile cruelly.
"Took that child long enough to deliver decent news." He threw the letter on top of the table without hesitation, her gaze landed on the piece of paper for a second if she could just read it then-
"What wonderful news, if only that boy wearing hanafuda earrings and his sister were executed." The demon lord stood up placing the letter on top of the table once again before scoffing in disbelief. "That human boy and his demon sister living and breathing the same air? Impossible, it won't be long before his demonic sister kills him."
"A demon cannot possibly coexist with a human, they will always thirst for human blood and flesh." Muzan continued speaking with a mocking grin while dusting off his clothes. "It will always be their instinct to satisfy their hunger, do you not agree Isabella?"
Isabella was confused why he was suddenly talking about his kind as if he wanted her to relieve that incident years ago. "...Yes, I am familiar with it."
"Of course you are very familiar with it, after all, that was when you lost your humanity." The black-haired demon's eyes shone with a knowing glint as if he was aware of something she wasn't. "I can still remember how the light in your eyes began to dim-"
"Muzan-sama what shall I do with that child?" Isabella's expression hardened that she averted the topic quickly, thankfully the demon complied without any remarks.
"Dispose of her family what else." Muzan's eyes landed on the letter one last time before averting his gaze towards the door. "I am sure those demon slayers have already found out that child is a traitor. I have no need for useless pawns."
His red eyes gleamed mischievously, as a sudden thought rushed through his head. "Have him do it, that brat may be acting obediently but his thoughts say otherwise. Monitor his every moves, and have Upper Moon Three report those findings to me."
"Upper Moon Three?..." the woman muttered stiffly, she can never forget that demon due to his unique appearance and her first impression of him.
How she wished that demon had killed her off back then, but alas Akaza spared her life and in turn, she was discovered by the progenitor she hated with her whole being.
"I will be gone for a little while until I come back Akaza will be guarding this place before his next order." Muzan calmly walked towards the door, his face smug, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Make sure to burn that letter afterward."
"...As you wish." Isabella bowed when he passed her without sparing her a glance.
"And one last thing," the demon paused in his steps. "I know you hate me so much, but if you want to properly execute your revenge-"
"Do try harder." Isabella's eyes widened in disbelief that she couldn't help but grit her teeth in anger. "Those wisteria poisons we're quite weak although for you it might be your strongest dose as of the moment."
"And let the poor thing out of her room every once in a while, preferably out in the sun." Muzan continued as if he just didn't insult her. "I'll expect that she won't escape under your watch. I'd like to confirm something..."
And just like that Muzan disappeared from the room, that she couldn't help but clench her fists in frustration.
After all that trouble, she's gone through for her to acquire the recipe of that insect hashira, it still wasn't strong enough to at least weaken him.
She let out a humorless laugh, at this rate if everything does go according to his plans then not even those demon slayers can stop him.
Her gaze went towards the piece of paper, taking it in her hands. As she was reading it her mind went blank, that only one word kept repeating inside her mind.
