Chapter 1 - He really is a monster

Then, Karasuma brought in a small metal cart with many trays, each with guns and knives placed on it. There were also several small bottles filled with smaller light pink pellets. He mentioned that these would be our only weapons to killing him, as these are specially made to kill only him and not to harm humans.

To be honest, I almost laughed out loud when I found out that the pellets which were used as bullets were made from plastic and the knives had a strange rubbery feel to it. This was seriously going to work on him?

Then I realized that we had to kill that creature.

Kill.

I felt something weird in me. Like something was boiling.

This feeling felt all too familiar.

Which was why I became horrified soon after.

Blood lust.

My previous self which I had been keeping locked away for about two years was slowly coming back to me.

I was becoming what I was before I entered this school.

An assassin.

I snapped out of my thoughts again when I heard a gunshot. I blinked when I noticed our teacher stopping what looked like to be a BB bullet with two broken pieces of chalk. I then noticed Nakamura standing with a gun in her hand, which was most likely where the bullet came from.

Wasn't he just focusing his attention on the blackboard with his body turned away from us? He must have a quick reaction if he was able to stop a bullet like that. But then again, he did have a max speed of Mach 20.

Acting like how teachers usually do, he instructed her to stand at the back as punishment since he was unable to hurt his students after all as part of the condition.

I don't even get why he wants to be our teacher. I mean, he even insisted on being one and didn't even want to tell us why. The government seemed really desperate to kill him, especially when Karasuma mentioned the reward which would be given to the one who manages to kill him.

"Success will be rewarded with 10 billion yen."

This got everyone's attention. I guess it does make sense in a way. If he gets assassinated, the one who does so would play a huge role in saving the Earth. This would probably motivate the students to try hard to kill him and get the reward, since some of us are the poorest students in the whole school.

Besides, we only have a year to kill him. If none of us manages to assassinate this creature, Earth will be gone.

After 3 different subjects which lasted about 3 hours, lunchtime finally came. I was getting too hungry for I don't eat breakfast every single day. Making my way to the area of the class where Nagisa seats, I sat on the table beside his as the rest went to different corners of the room to eat with their own circle of friends. I, on the other hand, always eats with Nagisa, whom I've known since our first year of junior high, and a cute green-haired girl named Kayano Kaede who had transferred in at the start of the year.
