Chapter 1:
So great I'm in The Hunger Games and my best friend that loves me followed me in. Well maybe I should tell you how this how all started. How my horrible life gets worse. Umm just keep reading... little more. Come on Granny read already!
It was a Sunday morning and I was just sitting on the beach (yeah that's right I live in District 4) with my best friend, Grant (I know he's a boy!) and we were just chatting. Before the reaping happens at 2:00pm to day. Let's get one little thing straight. I HATE the Capitol! They just had to explode the ship my little brother and Dad were on. So I only have my mom, Gabriela (my annoying younger sister), and Esperanza (my even annoying little sister). I promise to myself to never let my sisters become a tribute for The Hunger Games.
Grant pokes my arm "Dream you faded into thoughtland again." he says.
I shake my head and smile "I guess I did." I look at my water-proof watch, 12:00pm "We should get back hime." I tell him.
He nods and walks me home. I say bye to him and open my door. I am greeted by my mom who hugs me and leads me to my bed I share with Espe. It has a green silk dress on it.
I stare at it "Are you sure?" I ask Mom.
She nods and I change into the beautiful dress. Mom smiles and puts my cute messy brown hair in a pretty braid. I slip my feet into black flats that match my dress. If I look in the mirror I see a beautiful young teen with sea green eyes. The young girl that's me walks out the door and to my fate.
Chapter 2:
I hold Gabriela's hand as I walk to get signed in. Gabriela sees my finger get pricked with a needle and backs away.
I look at her "It's okay Gabs it barely hurts." I tell her softy.
She let's the ugly capitol woman prick her finger and put it down on a paper.
I take her hand "Go on now. Go stand with the 12-year olds." I say and she nods then walks to people her age.
I walk to the 16-year olds and stand behind one of my friends, Mary Anne. I fade out aas the mayor gives his speech. What seems like hours later, our escort, Diana Lovegood, comes on stage in her spiky blue hair.
She looks at us and gives us a smile "Welcome welcome to the 71st Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favor." She says in an annoying high-pitch voice. Diana Lovegood walks over to the girl reaping ball "Ladies first!" She cheers. Diana reachs in and digs around for a name "Gabriela Moore." She calls out.
I stare at her then see Gabriela walking up to the stage "I volunteer!" I cry out.
Diana smiles at me and I walk up to the stage, Gabs clings on to me when I past "Dream you can't go!" She yells.
Her weight disappear and I see Mike, one of my best friends, lifting her up "Go on Dream." He says.
I keep walking then climb up the steps to the stage. Lovegood looks at me and hands me her mic "What's your name dear?" She asks me.
I look at my sister "I'm Dream Moore, 16." I tell the whole world.
Lovegood smiles and tells me to sit down "Boys next." She pulls out a name "Grant Hoover"
