01. April ~ Beach Bunny

A/N: In this AU Armin has a little brother because i said so. And because it opens up more scenarios ;))) btw when theres no specified POV then it means its third person. Oh and this chapters kinda short bc its midnight and I have school tomorrow so yk.

It was just like any other day for Armin. He woke up, got ready for school and left. Armin didnt have many friends, well atleast no close friends. He had the occasional small talk with Sasha and Connie but they never really hung out. There was always someone who caught his eye though, but he never had the balls to walk up and speak to him.

He had dishevelled brown hair that was long enough to get in his face, but too short to tie up. And beautiful green eyes. God those eyes. They could pierce a heart with just a glance. His name was Eren.

Eren had a lot of friends but always seemed distant from them. He was popular with girls but never had a girlfriend or was interested in one. He wasn't exactly the smartest either, he never payed attention in class or was too preoccupied with something else. Erens friends were you stereotypical jock bullies, picking on the smaller kids and over confident. Eren, of course, never took part in bullying and majority of the time told his friends to stop. But he was still friends with them nevertheless.

This is how Armin sees him anyways.

Armins POV

I woke up from a deep slumber and rubbed my eyes. I loved classes but hated school. My breaks always consisted of me either in the library or in the bathroom eating alone. I did get picked on, but not enough for me to talk to someone about it. I limped out of bed and made my way downstairs. "Morning grandpa." I said with a hoarse voice.
"Goodmorning Armin, I've made some oatmeal for you. Its sitting on the stove." Grandpa said with his usual sweet smile while lounging on the couch reading a book. He always got up so early. My little brother Leon was still asleep because he's been sick so he's skipping school today.

I ate breakfast then went back up to my room to get changed. My room's walls were bombarded with sci fi posters and album covers of music bands. I had fairy lights above my bed too. It really created an ambiance. Once I lugged on a sweater and some loose jeans I went downstairs and said goodbye to my grandfather. He was getting ready to open the library down the street. Quite a fitting job for a man of his calm nature.

I got on my bike and pedaled my way to school. On my way in, I spotted Eren. He was in the car with a black haired girl who didn't go to this school and a man. The man seemed to be upset at Eren and was yelling at him. Eren looked annoyed and fed up as he got out of the car and slammed the door with the man still yelling at him. The girl had a stoic look to her and appeared rather unfazed about what was happening. I wondered what they were arguing about.

After the excruciating seven hours of school was over, I stayed in class for a while discussing some things over about the up coming essay to my teacher. "But sir, the topic is quite vague. No disrespect, but I just dont understand what you want us to write about."
"Armin, in the description i said to write about the thing that makes you look forward to when waking up. I mean just that."
"But, sir-"
"Don't overthink it. Just write about your spark."
"My.. spark?" I said with a confused face. I genuinely did not understand one word that was coming from this mans mouth.
"Yes, now go I have some things to attend to." The raven-haired teacher said as he urged me to the door before shutting it right behind me.

My spark. I thought. What does that mean? What do I look forward to when waking up? It pained me to say nothing. Or atleast that's what I thought. I figured getting some tea at the coffee shop would help me work things out. That decision changed my life.
